These will make people happy. Noticed there is now an option for manual fan control in the overdrive section.

Interesting , now its 115 and more extensions has been added to the card.

One question, is Vertex shaders important?
I see that ATI keeps leaving them out

My 2400HD has always been working terrible vs the 6200. Seriously my 6200 out performs the card big time. Now my 2400HD is improving tho, with the 8.9 drivers, i mostly have issues with my older games, very choppy performance. ATi is improving tho, so i might test out these new drivers with my card sometime tomorrow.

hisshhh.. the automatic CCC fan control set my card at fan 26% when idle at 55C ramp up to 33% when it reach 90C.. still too hot for me ...

Nice option if you want fixed fan speed .. but in my case ill continue to use Riva for dynamic fan speed with max temp 78C.

nice try with the fan speed override. it's nice to know they occasionally listen to us. the problem is that we want to be able to adjust the fan's automatic profile. setting manual fan speed every time you start and stop a game is still a hassle.

Manual speed override is nice, but I wish you could set the temperature thresholds and fan levels for automatic control instead. Having to set it manually to a single speed every time you want to play a game isn't the most convenient approach...

These are working fine in every game that I've tried so far.

All checks out ok on my 3850 so far, no probs with install



To confirm, now shows 115 OpenGL extensions in OGL Viewer 3.0. (was 108 in Cat 8.9)

BTW rflair, in you initial post you said this was version:

Driver Packaging Version 8.54-080910a-069486E-ATI

mine shows as Driver Packaging Version 8.54-080910a-069487E-ATI, no biggie though eh?

Excellent drivers. I've played a bit Crysis Warhead DX10 with them. Crysis Warhead runs smooth as butta on my 1GB Crossfire system in 1920x1200, everything on Enthusiast plus 4xAA.

Err, performance-wise they are on the same level as Cat 8.9.

I'm having one strange issue, I have lost 3D preview when changing 3D settings (AA & AF) at CCC. Anyone knows how to get it back?

Well, at least each profile you create saves the fan speed settings along with it. In that regard, its not so bad. I just have to select a "Desktop" profile after I play a game. Still, true game profiles (like nVidia drivers) would be nice.

Are those OpengL extensions the upgrade from Opengl 2.1 to 3.0 or those that were missing from previous drivers....If they are part of 3.0 the old games will still play bad so it's not an actual improvement..

I think some of the older games plays bad because of those Vertex Shaders are missing. I am just guessing, but i am not sure. All i know, in 8.9 playing unreal gold or any of the older games it plays terrible. I would get like 80-100fps in games, but when i turn around and look at something it will drop to about 6-10fps.

Going back to my 6200 OC Pci card, i never have this problem and games run smooth. I haven't tested out the 8.10 with my 2400 yet, but i will soon and give feedback.
