Default What happens when Zardon @ DH gets bored?

He figures out how to quietly aircool his Skulltrail SLI rig.

4.5Ghz on both Quads with GTX280 TriSLI, pulls near 1.1Kw from the wall.

recently decided to see just how far I could clock skulltrail on simple air cooling while making the system have maximum airflow with minimum noise. The task was simple, keep all the fans below 24db (preferably 21db) and try and get the two QX9775 processors to over 4.2ghz. Not a really hard project for watercooling but a little tricky on air, especially if you wanted to run it 24/7.

Good god! I hope he's got a 30"+ monitor to feed with that rig or that's alot of wasted horsepower.

Good God, I'm surprised that he didn't need to bolt it down to stop it taking off the desk. 1.1Kw! and he wants to run it 24/7
