Default 3870 hitting $219 and below at newegg and others!

Sapphire 3870 - $219 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102719

Gigabyte 3870 - $209 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125086

Visiontek at Bestbuy - $214 - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1194053242087

This is pretty damn good, but would be even better at $199 to answer recent price cuts on the 8800GT.

Good on ya AMD for remaining agressive in the market!!!

Lame, I just bought an HD3850 (512MB, Factory Overclocked, Dual Slot Cooler) for $199 a month ago and now the 3870's are getting near what I paid. Ah well...

Are there any differences between the 3850 and 3870 from a hardware standpoint (excluding GDDR4), or are they just clocked differently? Maybe a voltage difference? loloverclockingpotential.

Keep in mind the Gigabyte board uses lower clocked GDDR3.

This is good but needs to settle into $199 to answer recent price cuts on the 8800GT which has settled into the $239 price point.

Yeah cvearl, I just ordered the Sapphire one from newegg today. Time to retire my x1950pro I bought one year ago this month. It has been a good card, but it's time to upgrade, and the price is right(free shipping too ).

AMD/ATI ftw!

8800GTs aren't "$239" though-

Zotac for $219.99 after $20 MIR.

How is the Sapphire 3870 over your X1950 and what is the power consumption like? Is lower now with the 3870?

Well, Troll, I guess you are asking me about the 3870 vs. the x1950pro, but since I have'nt received the 3870 yet, I don't know.

From everything I have read about the 3870 though, it should blow my x1950pro out of the water.

Thank you for the price check Jethro. Good to see that prices are coming down across the board.

Ya there is 1 with Mail in Rebate (which I am not a fan of for various reasons of my own... the least of which is my last one took just over 9 weeks to come) making it $209 and 2 with Mail in Rebates I guess for $219 but the rest are all $239 and up. So I was averaging the sweet spot or at least where most of em were headed. Which IMO is $239 and not everyone buys at newegg. I was really just going based on that to some degree. 6 of this and a half dozen of the other. /whadevah

In the future I will not bring up the other products as it becomes a stupid dumbass debate about this price and that price and on and on. Symantecs.

So the heart of this thread is this... It is $219 and below now with a solid price on $214 for visiontek at Bestbuy.

Freiggan damn awesome deal IMO.

That's the way I look at is the mid-range is offering some great deals for over-all gamers. I've never seen anything like it before.
