Default Team Fortress 2 crashes to desktop

Hi!

I hope I can get help here.

After a couple of minutes playing the ganme just returns to the desktop. Does anybody else have this problem?
I got the latest cats and XP + SP2
The little Security Center also pops up from the task bar.... but I have already included steam under ''exceptions'' in the Windows firewall.... closing down spybot also doesn't help.

thanks!

Yes I have the latest drivers for my 2900XT....

So this is the beta? The final version isn't even released yet?

Steam didn't mention anything about it being beta!

I think one 2900 user stopped the crashes by not using AA? Not sure, seeing as i use Nvidia cards.

Quick launch, you have to make sure the taskbar isn't locked, then try to drag the part where it lets you resize the quicklaunch area so the quick launch ends up above tabs.

Infact since i've done that i've never used the desktop once

Well it doesn't matter anymore guys...
my PC is totally f**ked now anyway... all my online games are crashing to the desktop now..... it seems since I installed that steam and TF2 piece of sh*t.

I'll have to reinstall windows tomorrow, like I have no better **** to do.
i don't know how something simple can screw things up like this.

F*ck you very much steam, but no thanks!

steam is not reason for your troubles you are exaggerating. try actually learning to use a computer before placing blame on stuff that doesn't effect anything else. since you seem ignorant of your computer it's probably something else stupid that you did. formatting might be best way to go. just remember, learn from your mistakes dont blame steam for it.

lol, blaming steam on your whole system f'ing up is real smart..

it wasn't user error or those notavirus.exe files you launched from some stranger in your email...
