Talking BloodRayne 2 FSAA Patch 0.6 (Widescreen + Custom Resolution)

After 6 months of research & development, this is the first public release.

Special thanks to the game developers & publishers (Terminal Reality & Majesco) for allowing me to release this patch.

You can download it at: http://www.coopdb.com/modules.php?name=BR2fsaa

This is dedicated to all the BloodRayne fans.

If you need technical help, or if you've any question or suggestion, please, post them at the official forum of the patch (http://www.coopdb.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=25), to keep everything at the same place.

Thank you very much & enjoy playing with Rayne !

Update 21/07/2007 (Version 0.6)

This new version adds custom resolution setup, with aspect ratio fix.

Now you can play at 1280x720, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 2560x1600, ... any custom resolution.

Also you can use wider FOV for true widescreen gaming.

And it has no performance hit.

Thank you very much & enjoy playing with Rayne !

Update 03/08/2007 (Version 0.9)

This new version adds enhanced dynamic shadows & reflections.

Beyond FSAA, this is the first true quality enhancement, with respect to the default quality in the game.

You can customize the quality of both features for proper performance & video memory usage.

Thank you very much & enjoy playing with Rayne !

Update 13/10/2007 (Version 1.0)

This new version adds enhanced blood pools reflections, enhanced transparent water, enhanced blood fields, enhanced aura vision, ... some little options, and a configuration tool for the patch.

Thank you very much & enjoy playing with Rayne !

Update 27/10/2007 (Version 1.1)

This new version adds several video memory optimizations, more AA modes, & more AA compatibility options. It also should fix the problems that some users had with the pre-rendered videos of the game. It's a recommended update.

Thank you very much & enjoy playing with Rayne !

Wait, what?

I played Bloodrayne 2 ages ago it seems. Well, I'm glad it has widescreen support and AA support now. I should hunt around for my copy or something, as I never finished it the first time I played it.

It works even with Xfire, and, performance is excellent.

I haven't the Steam version of BR2, so, i can't test it. Maybe i'll buy it too.

In theory, you should place the files of the patch, in the folder where the BR2 binary is located.

Downloading the Steam demo ... I'll know if it works soon.

Edit: The steam demo, is the same old demo released in October 2004. The patch works with it. You just need to put the patch files into the "steamapps/common/bloodrayne 2 demo/" folder. About the retail version in steam, i haven't it, so i can't check yet. Maybe soon.

well i'm not that dumb so i know where place the files "steamapps/common/bloodrayne 2"

but for some reason it don't work ...
WXGA resolutions are ignored etc.

it's like the d3d8.dll is completely ignored

I bought steam version this morning. Still downloading atm ...

I dunno if it has different files, but the demo was like a mirror of the non steam version.

It works !

Just place the "d3d8.dll" & "br2fsaa.ini" files into "steamapps/common/bloodrayne 2" folder.

Then edit "br2fsaa.ini" and set 'ForceResolution', 'Width', 'Heigh' & 'ForceAR' variables, to your needs:

Example for 1920x1200

ForceResolution = 1
Width = 1920
Height = 1200
ForceAR = 2

Reasons why it’s worth to be a PC gamer in 2012.

- The hardest thing about getting a Mac is telling your parents that you're gay.

- If I had the choice between being gay and owning a Mac, I would rather be gay, because if I owned a Mac I would be both gay and own a horrible computer.

- Imagine a giant cock flying towards your mouth, and there's nothing you can do about it. And you're like "Oh man, I'm gonna have to suck this thing", and you brace yourself to suck this giant cock. But then, at the last moment, it changes trajectory and hits you in the eye. You think to yourself "Well, at least I got that out of the way", but then the giant cock rears back and stabs your eye again, and again, and again. Eventually, this giant cock is penetrating your gray matter, and you begin to lose control of your motor skills. That's when the giant cock slaps you across the cheek, causing you to fall out of your chair. Unable to move and at your most vulnerable, the giant cock finally lodges itself in your anus, where it rests comfortably for 4, maybe 5 hours. That's what using Mac OSX is like.

No way yet. It's hard coded.

I just can change the D3D calls on the fly. And it's very complicated at this point, with all the new features.

Anyway, it's a miracle to have FSAA working.

I'll keep trying of course, but i think that i'll try to fix 3D sound next.

New ideas are welcome.
