These beta driver fixed my issue posted on my thread http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33872107 but only if I leave the option in the BIOS set to default. I just hope that the official ones do not break everything again.

I was hoping someone would post an FSX screeny. I noticed a massive difference in FSX when enabling AA in game. Weird. I also noticed that some games don't work well with it like transparent trees and the like... well it is a beta.

I'm confused...does this EATM improve quality, or performance, or both!? I'm still at 6.10, but would like a little better performance in some games...

Think of the EATM setting as another flexibile feature to help with Alpha tests. We have quality and performance adaptive but when titles have a large amount of Alpha's, well, performance suffers greatly -- even with the performance adaptive. Subjective: What these settings are trying to do is offer the quality of the performance adaptive but with much more performance. What adaptive and this feature do is help make Alpha tests look better -- offer more immersion for the gamer. In my heavy Alpha test Area with x6 AA with one card or x12/14 AA with two cards this World of WarCraft area would get around 17 frames with performance adaptive -- with the EATM setting this area receives around 50 frames in this real tough nasty alpha area in World of WarCraft. Examples are offered earlier in this thread! Another advantage is added alpha test detail. Earlier in this thread there are a few examples to check out! With anything beta -- don't expect official. No one knows when this feature will be official. It is much more polished than past offerings so it is getting close. Last edited by SIrPauly : Nov 29, 2006 at 08:37 PM. You still get the biggest boost indoors by disabling point lights (can't really see much difference anyway) and outdoors by disabling "high" shadows (looks silly though) having about 19fps outdoors and 90fps indoors now on X1900XT.

No this is an issue with the driver, EATM is still not perfected yet. You should see WoW with EATM using the 6.11. So far the games I have tested EATM with show the following ( using 6.12 Beta ): WoW = Checkerboard effect is gone, game looks and runs perfectly. Unreal Tournament = Checkerboard bug is there. BattleField 2 = Checkerboard effect noticed on kit selection and map screen, terrain textures do not appear and are not drawn unti you are very close. It is difficult to read text and even see the mini map ( Want to see some funny texture bugs try flying ) BattleField 2142 = Checkerboard effect noticed on kit selection and map screen, terrain textures do not appear and are not drawn unti you are very close. It is difficult to read text and even see the mini map ( Want to see some funny texture bugs try flying ) Farcry = No issues game runs flawlessly. Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour = No issues. Oblivion = Checkerboard effect noticed on menus and on alpah textures ( not as bas as 6.11 ) Diablo 2 = Game becomes very very fuzzy and makes my eye's bleed... Halo = AA, AAA, EATM not supported. Thats a port for you. Fear = No issues. Half Life 2 = Checkerboard effect noticed mostly on tree's. Grand Theft Auto = Huge performance loss enabling EATM, AAA no supported.

i noticed several program instabilities while using 6.12 beta ... quick switch to 6.11 and back reveals it's driver related only ... test on another hw config same ... still i would like to hear if some1 else encoutered abnormal program terminations, CTDs (crash to desktop)

I've had that a few times with Company of Heroes. At first I thought it was because I had just patched it to 1.3, then I wondered if it was my overclock, since my PC sometimes won't boot when overclocked (too much power when everything spins up, I think). I'm now starting to think it is these 6.12 Beta's, so I'm going back to the 6.11's for now. Cheers, Jez |

Here's a better Farcry shot. 1280x1024 Max Quality, 6xAA, 16xANSF HQ AAA = http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/8...rcryaaakd4.jpg EATM = http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/4...cryeatmka9.jpg As you can tell the checkerboard effect is dominantly present in Farcry looking at the tree in the disntance infront of the warterfall and on some blades of grass. But on the other hand AAA 15FPS and EATM 40FPS is pretty huge if you ask me. Also the blue hue is annoying. I also noticed in this **** at the first spawn point there are 4 pillars that have a metalic texture to them, in the AAA shot the pillars are extremly white and actually hurt the eye's to look at, but in the EATM shot they are smooth and appear sharper. All shots were taken on FarCry 64Bit on map AMD_Gorge64.

EATM does bring a checkerboard glitch to WoW, but only at a certain distance I think. However, I can't seem to get the ATMAlphaSharpen settings to work. First off they weren't even in the registry, but that's not the problem. The problem is that setting ATMAlphaSharpenMode to 1 caused a BSD upon starting WoW. Setting all the ATMAlphaSharpen settings to 1 caused the same BSD. Perhaps these settings are for the X1xxx series only?? And what does the ATMAlphaFix setting do? I could see no difference in WoW.

The Screendoor effect artifacts are seen but much better than past offerings. It's still beta and as time passes it should blend more. Using CrossFire is a frigg'n treat for the eyes with Super-AA with this feature, imho. Because of the ability to add more multi-sampling it adds more EATM IQ............plus, the virtual free-hit aspect of the super-sampled Super AA helps blend and add more IQ. As an Avid player as of late with World of WarCraft and my mission to become a level 60 for the first time..........the IQ is simply wonderful. To come close to try matching this IQ --- my frame-rate was 17 ---- now it is 50. Think about that! Plus, the added Alpha test detail which makes the game even more immersive. Very Welcomed feature -- even in its beta state. It's not like we are forced to use it........can always use Adaptive AA. |

AlphaSharpenmode helps a great deal on the screendoor effects that may be seen, imho! Here is the EATM setting on a very noticable Screendoor effect alpha texture in Serious Sam 2: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/3...phasharkz6.jpg Here is the EATM setting plus the AlphaSharpenMode: http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/5...hasharppa3.jpg Stark difference not only in detail but less shimmering artifacts while moving. |

I don't get it - why does one picture have mor foliage than the other ? Also, I have looked in my reg for the keys and they are not there only around 4 lines which dont correspond. ATT has the option for EATM but not Alphasharpen or am i missing it ?
