Default C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\CLIStart.exe

This program loads up at startup and I cannot find anything on the internet telling me what it is. Hoping you guys can help.

#1 -What is it?

#2 Do I need it at startup (or at all for that matter)?

Default

If I remember correctly this is the CCC (Catalyst Control Center) start runtime, it is used for the CCC to 'pre-load' with windows. You don't need to let it start with windows as it will start on demand when needed.

This is up to you and I take no responsibility if something goes wrong

Start regedit (backup this registry entry before deleting) and go to this key entry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run - delete the one that has the cli start at the end (sorry can't remember the exact string but it should be this one -> "ATICCC"="\"C:\\Program Files\\ATI Technologies\\ATI.ACE\\cli.exe\" runtime ) Cli wont start when windows restarts.
If you want to run it manually go to the start menu and browse to the CCC part and run 'restart runtime' and that will restart it - or - when you try and run CCC it should start automatically (mine does).

Hope this helps.
