Default MMC 9.09 came with my AIW X800XL PCIE

So far I have only used the TV app. Still does not support the HDTV Wonders analog tuner for MultiView. Just thought I'd pass the fact that it's out along. Must mean it will be released soon.

Sounds to me like it might have got skipped over as a viable release and may have just as many issues as 9.08 does. My 9.08 died for a month and a half and just tonight it magicly started working again for my HDTV wonder. Its amazing software

On the multiview we do have some options.

I posted this information sometime back but it all still works with the latest drivers and MMC.

The easy option...
Startup what every you want to watch with MMC except the ATI HDTV WONDER DTV program.
Next start WatchHDTV.... We have PIP!
HDTV on once screen and analog in another.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&&#post5212546

Another example:

You can mix the ATI HDTV WONDER DTV with the ATI HDTV WONDER S-VIDEO or Composite.
You can also mix the ATI HDTV WONDER (DTV, S-VIDEO, Composite or analog Tuner) with another AIW or other tuner based card.

Main Video: ATI HDTV WONDER (DTV)
PIP: ATI HDTV WONDER - Analog S-Video Source
CC: ATI HDTV WONDER - Analog S-Video Source

http://img229.exs.cx/img229/2417/ccmix5nr.jpg

It can be done.

Look at the GraphEdit sticky for information on how to do this.

You would think MMC 9.10 would be next not 9.09. After all, 9.04-to-9.06 followed by 9.08.

Seems like another 9.04 which was only released via CD not download.

The Hexus review of the AIW X800XL PCIE listed 9.09 being used and that was like a month ago! Agustus you may be right about the CD only version....frustrating to say the least.

Well, in the case of MMC 9.04 it was something of a double-edged sward. It was released on CD with some retail HDTV Wonder cards in a limited capacity. Presumably, MMC 9.04 had some specific enhancements for the HDTV Wonder but some compatibility/stability issues with other ATI hardware and thus it was never released for download.

This almost sounds like a cover story though, especially when you consider that at the time there were many Theater 550 Pro users mistakenly expecting the release of MMC 9.04 for their new product.

This phantom MMC 9.09 may have been released only on CD with the AIW X800XL PCIe and AIW X800GT PCIe for similar reasons. After all, the AIW X800XL PCIe and AIW X800GT PCIe both have a common new feature that no other ATI multimedia product has and can only be used in specific parts of the world,…..AKA “DVB-T tuning”. Naturally this new feature needs to be implemented in MMC in order to support the new hardware. There may be no additional functionality or fixes in MMC 9.09 other then “DVB-T tuning” and therefore no need to release it in mass. Perhaps there are some enhancements but maybe they are just not significant enough,….who knows!?!

“DVB-T” may have somewhat stifled current MMC advancement.

I have moved on to MCE 2K5 so I’m not disappointed or frustrated either way but when ATI makes their new MMC available (9.09 or 9.10 or whatever they call it) I’ll download it and play with it. I still very much like MMC,….just not for getting any serious entertainment on.

mmc 9.09 is a little quirky, but it works.

i am curious about the wdm driver for this thing. it seem to be completely different from the usual nsp/sp set that the other aiw's use. it acts like the card is mpeging the video (i think im seeing compression glitches every once and a while) but there is no channel change lag. i havent tried playing a console game on this thing yet.

the remote wonder plus is sexy. the shape and size is a big improvement. i just wish it could talk to mmc when its not in focus, like my remote wonder 2 could (using the aux buttons).

I did noticed that the WDM 5.9 drivers from ATI.com do not work for this video card. I had to use the ones on the CD. I did not noticed any channel lag. The tuner itself is new, a different model then was on the X800XT and X600 Pro.

DBTV is only in Europe, not in the U.S. based cards.

sizzle i see you have the hdtv wonder as well as 9.09. does 9.09 fix the dreaded hdtv wonder blackout bug that occurs at five minute intervals since mmc 9.03.

Interestingly enough, If you listen to the radio and then try and watch TV the sound is just static.

Only bug I have found so far...

Tristancarton, I had a game on the other night no problems. Though I never had the blackout problem either.

I’ve heard a lot about this blackout bug but I have never seen it on my HDTV Wonder,……ever,…..on any version of MMC,…. Although I mainly use MCE 2K5 now, I’ve used MMC enough that I should have seen it if my system was predisposed to do so,….one would think.

I was told the same thing and I believe my comments were about the same as well.. Dumbest thing i've ever heard considering i paid $200 for the HDTV wonder.. As for the blackout bug i experienced it shortly but reinstalling the dtv decoder again seemed to fix it.. I run 5.8 cats with 9.06.1 mmc and all seems to be working fine.. I doubt i'll change drivers but man i've been waiting for a mmc forever as my x800 aiw fm radio still doesn't work ...
