follow the steps in this thread: http://www.driverheaven.net/showthre...&highlight=ff7

mainly the second page...once you apply the game and graphical patches (and hopefully the mp3 sound patch) you'll be good to go, antialiasing and all

I've found trying to get the PC version to work right was an exercise in frustration. I tried all the patches, went through all the steps, sacrificed a couple chickens for good measure, only to get the game to crash at the most inopportune moments between save points. The characters shouldn't be bulbous looking in epsxe, just play with the settings a bit and i'm sure you'll find a setup that works. I'd tell you what I had mine setup as but I had to really mess with them to get chrono cross to work properly. Do you have a psx?? The game is really cheap, like 8-12 dollars in retail stores if you can find it. It really is way better than emulating, I'll trade off antialiasing for better FMV quality and stability.

as I recall there was a special patch made for the geforces. That may translate, in today's technology, to any card that came after the tnt2 era, so it may be worth a try for you.

Smile Ff7

Check this site out. I was able to get it running in 3D mode without any problems what so ever leaving AA and AF off.

http://www.qhimm.com/ <---main site

and

http://forums.qhimm.com/

Lot's of nice little things here.

Havn't tried it out on my new system yet, so don't know if it still runs on a amd64 chipset or not.

Even a hacked patch that lets you play in 1280x960

The only crashes I've had have been on the snowboarding minigame before the gaia cliff...but that was fixed by putting the ff7 shortcut into win98 compatibility mode.

Wow, amazing how people have so many problems..
I have an X800 and installed the 1.02 patch, I think..Official one, apparently.
Works flawlessy, although I remember PS graphics beign WAY better...and it plays in 640x crappy res. =/

Well, least I can play it.

Oh and btw, the 8-bit failing is normal..you can play the game with it failed, I do. =P

Default Arrrggghhh

Installed the game...
Applied 1.02...
Ran LPG fixes on char.lpg...
Ran Highrez patch...
Ran ff7music patch...

and when I run the game?

Nothing... if I click the mouse I get to the low rez "new game/continue" screen and if I choose new game, it goes to a black screen and doesn't do anything...
WTF?
