Default Anyone here tried the "Gallon of Milk Challenge"?

A local radio station today was talking about it being impossible to drink 1 gallon of milk in under an hour.. without throwing up.

Thats drink the whole thing and keep it down in on hour.
finish it in 10 min. you have to keep it down for 50.
finish it in 50 you gotta keep it down for 10.
you get the idea.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it, and how did ya do?

I was watching a show called "Inked" on A&E about a tattoo parlor in Vegas. Anyway, one of the owners bet one of the guys in the shop $1,000 to drink one gallon in one hour. The dude got it down in like 15 minutes but 30 minutes later he spewed.

That makes sense.

Not to mention that's a lot of liquid in your stomach and I doubt your system can keep up with it as far as pissing goes.

A gallon I bet the trick is to finish it right before the end of the hour, if you finish it at all.

Does this challenge allow you to eat food along with your gallon. Like maybe a loaf of bread or something.

Correct. My brother used to work in a lab and they actually had a materials toxicity sheet for plain water, as ingesting 3+ liters quickly could prove harmful or fatal.

Low and behold:

I've seen it done. In person.

Coworker of mine, got it down within the hour and kept it down. It was not pretty though... he was very close to puking several times and didn't really feel well afterwards.

Oh yeah... it was whole milk too.

are you allowed to piss? If so it's very possible!

if you can't piss in the hour then it's impossible!
I've downed 2L of milk at one time many times easily.
But if urinating is not allowed, then that's ghey.

It's not a matter of whether or not you're allowed to urinate. The problem is you may not have to urinate within the hour, or to the degree that'll sustain that kind of fluid intake. In which case you'll likely throw up due to overconsumption. Different people's mileage may vary, but the average joe's not going to be able to do it.

I drink a 16 oz glass of Ice water every 15 to 20 minutes.

3 x 16 oz = 48 oz = 0.3749 gallons in about an hour.......

There is no way in hell I could drink that amount.........

Hmm. 3.7 liters in an hour?

If it was Fanta or a sports drink I could do it, but with milk? Mmm..

When I work out I can get down about a gallon and a half an hour of water, and I'm only 175 pounds. I've seen it done with milk by runners, but never tried it myself. The key for water is physical activity and dehydration, AFTER conditioning. Conditioning is drinking several gallons daily. I had to take drug tests after a dui, and massive water consumption is the best way to pass these tests (and healthful when enough food/vitamins/minerals are ingested too.)

I've seen it done. In person

-TiTaNiuM

The biggest problem is that milk curdles in your stomach acids, and neutralizes. your body reacts to the change in pH by purging the milk (vomit). Perhaps a method would be to drink some acid or a buffer (tums.)

In any case I've seen it done without puking, but the individuals were always in great shape and didn't feel good afterwards for 1-2 hours.

And I've drank a gallon of milk in about an hour and 30 minutes without feeling like crap, after heavy workout.

Believe me it's possible, but not without proper preparation which takes weeks to months.

ya.. looking into it a little bit, the big problem seems to be the curdling of the milk. There are a couple of videos of people trying to do it, and every time they puke it looks like scrambled eggs. (enjoy your breakfast)
Also people that have tried it say that the 8 pounds (3.64 kilo's) of cold fluid in your gut lowers your body temperature, a lot. which doesn't help comfort wise.
