![]() Here's your first spoiler, you have been warned ![]() To anyone who beat KOTOR2 (I have several times) did you understand what Kreia's motives were? What was she hoping to accomplish on Malachor V? She was a very charismatic character but I always failed to see what she wanted to accomplish with the exile. What I understood is she wanted to cause the death of the force... but why? Is it because her former students have all been disappointments(i.e. sith lords)? |

**********BIG EFFING SPOILER!************** She wanted to show just how weak force users are. If a person is dependent on something aside themselves for power (weapons, religion, etc) what usually happens? They do something stupid and get themselves killed. By stripping away the Jedi's only real strength they'd have to rely on themselves to get their jobs done.

I think the person of Kreia and her motives are one of the major weakspots in KOTOR 2, I mean, she hates the force because some Sith did something very worse to her, and because of that she wants to exterminate anyForce-capable users in the Galaxy, and in order to do so, she must first become very powerful in the force herself, which she intensely hates (being force sensitive). Actually I think it would have been better if the whole Kreia plot wouldn't have been here, and instead the plot should have been centered around the Sith Lord which you beat above Telos in or around the one which shows up in chapter one for a brief moment. Anyways I had the impression they weren't quite done with the story and probably had first intended to make a story around Revan and Malak again, but after having finished half the game they choose to change it for some reason. Which made the story line IMO confusing and not very apprehensive. Iscaran |

Kreias motives were EXTREMELY layered... for one, she wanted to show the Jedi the error of their ways... sitting in some high horse tower for the whoel time hoping for the threat to come to THEM didn't help much. She cannot be explained in simple details, but suffice to say that she wanted to remove dependancy on everything but a persons own inner strength... but the problem was that the force bound EVERYTHING, there was no single thing she could do to destroy that... since destroying the force would mean an apocalypse in Star Wars terms pretty much. The thing is, she accepted that destroying the force would be something that had to be done, no matter how damaing it might be to everyone. The main thing she wanted to do was to wake everyone up from their self induced stupors... she tried the Jedi, but they didn't like her direct and cold methods. she tried the Sith, but they didn't like her ability. So, since she wasn't accepted by either, she decided to try and make both realize the rror of their ways... mainly the Jedi though, since they were the ones with the real potential. Any questions?

I didn't write a full conclusion how I did come to my opinion, but if I am allowed to quote yourself: Quote:
The problem *I* have with Kreia's motives is mostly they are just totally unlogic, even the most evilest Sith Lord wouldn't do this. And you give the answer to that paradox yourself... Quote:
The only type of person I know of which would think that way, is an insane person, which actually doesn't *think* at all. That is my problem with this all, it's just not a good motivation, and speaking of motivation, the true reason why Kreia *hates* the Force itself is AFAIK not given, so it all becomes a question of whether you believe that this is possible or not ? But there is one point I agree with you, Kreia is no "simple" character at all, but their underlying motives are just ...well that's your/my opinion. Any questions? ![]() Iscaran P.S.: Perhaps we should confer further discussion on an e-mails basis... stefan.seidlmayer@gmx.de ![]() |
