Default Cat 4.10s and MR9000s?

Did anyone else have a problem with installing the 4.10s on the MR9000s? I did my usual method of grabbing the full driver set, using the DH driver modder, and trying to install from there. However, when I run the driver setup now, it says "this driver is not compatible with your installled graphics adapter" or something.

What gives? 4.9 worked (kinda, separate bugs though).

I had the same thing happen with my M9600Pro...I think it may be the DH's modder...

you'll need to add a few things to your inf file, see this thread

what M_A_D suggested is for 9700 though, for the 9600 I use the following:

Code:
"Radeon Mobility 9600"= ati2mtag_M10, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4E50
"Radeon Mobility 9600"= ati2mtag_M10, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4E52
for the 9000 it would be something else

Problem with the newer drivers and patjes modding tool is that ATi changed the inf-file slightly...

so, before you mod them you will need to alter the inf-file to make the modder work:
  1. Extract the Driver Package
  2. Go to C:\ATI\SUPPORT\wxp-w2k...\Driver\2KXP_INF
  3. Open the file CX_18115.inf

in this file you need to change this:
Code:
[Manufacturer]
%ATI% = ATI.Mfg, NTx86

[ATI.Mfg.NTx86]
to this:
Code:
[Manufacturer]
%ATI% = ATI.Mfg

[ATI.Mfg]
then mod the driver as usual...

Default Omega Drivers?

M_A_D and alperuzi,

I'd like to install the latest Omega drivers (v2.5.90 based on Cat. 8.07 betas) in my M9000 with the DH modder. Anything I need to change, alter, etc?

Thanks,

tdd

nope, omega drivers come with these mods already applied. No need to do anything other than run the setup.

I know the omegas are always available, but sometimes I like to stay up to date with the official cat sets. I guess for now I'll make do with 4.8 or the omegas until a new modder comes out.

GarfBond,

From what I've read in this forum and others and on Omega's site, the latest Omega's are based on the 4.11 beta's and are actually an upgrade from the 4.10's (which means they include the A.I. feature). I installed them last night on my M9...didn't need the DH Mod tool and the installation was a piece of cake. I uninstalled my previous driver set using ATi's Catalyst Uninstaller HERE...great little utility.

Cheers,

tdd
