It doesn't stand for anything anymore. But it used to be an acronym for "Array Technologies Incorporated".

This is Allied Telesyn International's logo:

Their website: http://www.alliedtelesyn.com

They make routers, switches, networkadapters, tranceivers, hubs and more of products... There is not one single word about the ATi we all know on that site...

I read once it is Advanced Technologies Inc. But the Array seems to be the correct one. Array is certainly a tech term whether in programming databases or hardware setups. Certainly it's not A Tease Inc which was the completely juvenile one I planned to pen here in reference to the delays.
