Default Havok eat your heart out!

Wile doing my daily browse I stumbled upon this :

Meqon!

The physics involved are simply stunning and i had alot of fun simply knocking things down. The way the AI bats incoming projectiles away with its hands would be fantastic in a game such as farcry or half life 2!

I was unable to check if this had been seen before as the search feature is down for some reason. Still, what a brill way to waste time!

I dont get the expression "Eat your heart out"

I mean I know it says "Watch out" or w/e but how do the 2 go together?

Does eat your heart out signify emosional stress? The feeling you get when your depressed? The feeling of when your heart feels like its being gripped really tight?

Is that it?

I guess its up to devs how advanced the implementation of a phys engine is, how much CPU you want to sacrifice..
So it might be rash to judge by techdemos hehe.

Always neat to play with tho..

Lets just say it does for now. I wasnt expecting to go that deeply into it to be honest. Perhapse it means that they may aswell eat thair heart out as they arnt much use for anything else. J/k by the way. Havok still has its merits I'm sure. Its just this Physics engine is so impressive I thought that all the Techdemo lovers whould run to me and embrace the find upon reading the thread title....im so lonely...

What you have to ask is what games will use this. I hope this aint one of those things that is put in one or two sub standard games and forgotten. So much potential. And such fun! *runs at the brick wall for the 7th time*

uh yeah and there's another one which was posted here at rage3d a while ago called Novodex or something... here is the site.

http://www.novodex.com/demos.html

I haven't downloaded their latest stuff but the stuff I downloaded a couple monthes ago was at least as good as this Megon stuff if not better...

and if you really like this stuff (like me) don't ever forget about playing "stair dismount" and "truck dismount"

Yeah, and look at this

http://meqon.com/news/20040927.php

I suppose 3DRealms got tired of the game engine swapping thing and decided to try their hand at scrapping physics engines for a change of pace.
