Speakers Logitech Z5300 Speaker Review

Following our review of Cooler Masters Stacker case, we bring you another review first for Rage3D. This time we have my trucker hat wearing sidekick Dementor taking a close look at Logitech's Z5300 5.1 speaker system.
...Logitech has taken the speaker market by storm and have succeeded in engraving their name in the industry. These Z-5300s completely blew me away. They proved to be both clear and powerful, picking up every little detail I could have imagined in all environments tested.

Check it out here.

Glad to see rage3d finally moving out into hardware not totally related to ATI. Good job!

Thats probably the first time I've read through a review and thought about how much I liked the review vs thinking about the product reviewed. Nice looks

I just bought these speakers a few weeks ago when futureshop had them on sale for $199.99, I've had my eye on them for a while and at that price they can't be beat. I agree with everything you said in the review. Only thing about them is that the sub is so big there's no room for my legs under the desk anymore!

The look of the review page is really cool, looks like you put a lot of effort into laying it out, and now I want new speakers even more. I'm not an english major but I thought I saw a couple of s's where there shouldn't have been any, I think in the first page near the end and in the second page near the beginning, could be that my english bites though.

in the spec,

Frequency response: 35Hz - 20kHz

wouldn't it be better to have 20Hz as lowest frequency response?

Yeah, except the speakers don't go that low, but 35Hz is close enough.
At least Logitech is honest about the frequency response.

Getting down to 20Hz, or for that matter, up to 20KHz is difficult.

Doing it CLEANLY is even harder. Why do you think there are $10,000 speakers out there?

Roki didn't write the review! He's just the "kickass editor", and he's damn good at it.

That it would, but no PC sub can even dream of hitting 20hz.

i purchased the white box version (kinda like oem) for $170.2 CDN for my second room, it's a pretty good deal for what i get. but ONE THING i have to say is: if u CAN afford the Z680, BUY THOSE cos u'll NOT regret it.

The z5300s are midrange speakers, the z680s are high end, and as a result the price jump is quite large for the price-weary buyer. You're comparing these to something that is close to double its price.

ur damn right... the average user will probably be more than satisfied with these for what they paid, but once they try the z680 they will feel so bad, and i believe they would chose to save up if they have to, in my case, i personally believe it's worth it as mid range speakers but i would save up for z680 even if it takes a year... after owning the z680 for so long, i have nothing (good) to say about these, i just can't emphazise how much better the z680 is compared to these, even if they cost twice as much, it just offers so much more power and option...
(these speakers DUN shake my house...)

the power ratings are a bit lower than the old z-560's... any idea how they compare?

i heard my friends 560s they will kill the 5300s hands down, if i have to choose one of them i would prefer the 560s' extra power over the 5300s' extra channel.

i have the 560's, they actually replaced the 560's with the 5300's
and lemme tell ya, my friend has 5300's and they dont come close to my 560's
why logitech replaced the 560's with a WEAK system like the 5300's is a mystery
the 5th channel is really quite pointless if u got a weak sub, the 560's sub is massive power the best speakers ive ever owned
i just home that they NEVER break cuz logitech wud replace my system w/ the 5300's
My guess is that the 560's gave too much power for such a low cost

what about the z-2200s? I don't have any space or desire for 5.1 speakers, so at 20 bucks less than the 5300s, would that be a smart buy?
