Default Have you ever met a celebrity?

I've met a couple, and corresponded with a few others, but I'm more interested in hearing your stories.

EDIT: Forgot to explain my own experiences. Actually, the reason I forgot is because they're not that great to anyone else but me. Anyway, I watched them film a scene in a movie with Johnny Depp, Jerry Lewis, and Paulina Porizkova (forgot the title...). I nearly bumped into Dolly Parton at LAX (LA airport), corresponded with Lisa Thornhill and Tara Hitchcock (Arizona news host/celebrity, related to Alfred Hitchcock), and with a couple others. I also met and talked with John Schlitt, who used to sing with that seventies rock band Head East, and more recently with the group Petra. On another occasion I corresponded with Bob Hartman, the founding member of Petra. When I was a little kid living in San Francisco, I ran up to Karl Malden when my family was watching some kind of celebrity function, and he picked me up (I was an adorable little child ). There may be other incidents, but they obviously weren't memorable.

I live near Judy Dench who plays "M" in James Bond. Met her a few times. Plus I live near an international airport so I see lots of famous people.

i dated a girl who was on a course with a girl who was a Elle covergirl, and lived with Cat Deeley (UK tv presenter). And I went to school with Sebastion Coes' nephew. I've met Sherrif Roscoe P. Coltraine from Dukes Of Hazzard. A friend of mine owns David Coulthard's old Porsche 968. My wife hung out with James Brown when she was in college.

I met Eddie Guerro (wrestler) when i was working at target. This was during his drunken driving days. He threatened to beat my ass if the lights on his newly brought Optical Christmas Tree didnt work.

Depends on who counts as a celebrity these days .

I've met Mike Foale and a few other shuttle astronauts, and a number of people in the movie business in the UK... one of whom (Jack Cardiff) I last saw on TV collecting an oscar. Probably others I've forgotten.

They're coming out with a new show called "The Geek Squad". Should be out next season. Check it out.

Joey, if I was fifteen years younger I'd be livid with envy. Did you talk to her? Did she say anything to you besides "eeeww, get away from me!"?

It's experiences like that which remind us of our humanity, and keep us humble. Brother, I've had a few of those myself...

I personally ran into Natasha Henstridge, Jean-Claude Van Damme and the director Ringo Lam in a restaurant when they were shooting Maximum Risk in Toronto. I asked Adam Sandler for directions when I was in New York for vacation... Yeah, I didn't realize who he was until he started talking to me. Also, my mom's the manager of the restaurant where I met Jean-Claude so she has run into many celebrities. Just at the top of my head - Kurt Browning, Sean Connery, Kim Basinger, Alec Baldwin, Renee Zelwegger (she's a regular when she's in town), that Buffy girl ... um right, Sarah Michelle Gellar, her boyfriend ... um...... I forget, David Suzuki .. alright, let's break out the autographs my mom got for me, let's see.. Julie something (I think it's Dench), I have like 50 but 80% of these signatures are not legible ... Wesley Snipes (I think), Peta Wilson (from Nikita), John Woo, Tom Jackson (?? - oh wait, some Canadian celebrity), Beau Bridges, Bob Sagat, Anthony Quinn (god bless his soul), Meryl Streep, Rebecca Gayheart, Cher (dunno, it's near scribbles) .. that's everything I can read. Oh and my mom said somebody came last week ... thinking ...... some sports star, I don't remember. Oh yeah, and Owen Nolan of the Toronto Maple Leafs is a regular but nobody ever recognizes him. In fact, he was bullied off a table once by a group of Japanese businessmen lol.

yes, i have a friend who took a picture her at that time.

As of meeting celebs, the closest thing would be baseball players(if they are considered celebs).

I am friends with the oldest kid off of Home Improvement his name is Zack Brian and his aunt lives on my street and he comes into town every couple of years and we hang out. I knew him before he was on the show and he was in Burger King commercials and he was so full of himself. Now hes pretty cool.

My uncle is really good friends with Seinfeld and goes to Wimbelton with him every couple of years. He even let him play in an episode. It's called the Stand-In and his name is Al Nechy. He hooked me up with an autographed picture of the whole cast and a personal one that says Happy Birthday from Jerry. I cherish them both alot.

I met one of the members of the band Korn one time on a train. I'm not sure which one since I don't like the band however. He had two young girls with him (who I assume were his daughters... ) and ordered several screwdrivers from the bar. The next moring he was really grumpy and snarled at me when he saw me, which I didn't expect because the night before he was quite friendly.
