Someone posted over in the GoneGold forums that MediaPlay B&M is advertising Thief: DS for the PC for $25...

Problem is, the bug appears without saving too. If you enter a new zone, then go back, it equals loading a game.

I play thug style. I kill everything I can. It's hard this way because you have to stealth kill and sometimes when there are several people around it gets hairy. Plus, I suck at Thief though I do like it a lot. I just hope there are no Bullocks in this Thief. That ruined TDP for me

OK can anyone help me?

I own a retail copy of T3, and have installed and played it with no problem... then my HD died, so I reinstalled windows, and now it's saying that it can't authenticate the authenticity of my CD. WTF? I hate copyprotection! Is there a solution to this?

Has anyone played this with Cat 4.6? Does 4.6 have the same problems as 4.5 in Thief or is it safe to upgrade?

I downloaded a no-cd crack (which is annoying with a legit copy) and ran it with 4.6.... the graphics didn't look as good as with the 4.4s... With the 4.6 drivers, there were annoying flickers in shadows. I would definately recommend sticking with the 4.4s for the time being.

It is a totally different game when on expert... AI is amazing. Try it again after the patch. No one knew until a week and a half ago that when they thought they were playing on expert it was actually normal...

Try it before!!!

http://www.team5150.com/~andrew/project.thiefbot/

Custom AI settings, ability to change them on the fly! Its *better* than ingame difficulty, I'm playing on Hard mode cause I dont want to nitpick the levels (its perfect for my playing style, although I often do everything I can) BUT with expert AI settings. It really is night and day, they are so much more responsive...

But you can now, with the tool I posted, so why after the patch? Or try harder than expert, since it support completely custom difficulty

Guess some people just have problems understanding

The AI problem is already F I X E D thanks to the great fans of Thief. One does not need a patch to overcome the bug.

Bad habits should be encouraged.
You can "frame" guards.
You will need at least 3 in the same area, 4 or more are better.
2 should be facing each other.
Kill one from the shadows.
The other guards will assume that one of the guards killed the other and go for him.
With a little care you can keep this going all the way to a major brawl.
While they're fighting each other , loot the place.
Major questions : How many guards can you get to slide across a courtyard or down the stairs with a flask or two of oil? Is it more fun if they slide into the mines you left lieing around?
Don't just kill, be inventive!!!!!

I havent noticed any slowdown... Well, not any MORE slowdown than Theif itself. Even if it has gone down 10 or 20 percent, its would equal about 1 lower fps, bleh.

The thiefbot tool is great - I set the guards to 1.50 audio and visual so they are a more worthy challenge.

No fps hit to speak of, because I use the THief Patcher and have disabled the HUD for realism (just using "body awareness").

I wish I had time to try out this patch, I haven't had time to game in like the last four days

Also, has there been any word on an editor yet? I haven't been able to keep up lately.

No editor yet, but there is an online petition for it so make sure you sign up.

Used that Thiefbot util for 3 days now - no crashes, no trouble, no performance loss. You have to be very good if you up the guards from Expert (especially if you don't allow yourself to blackjack guards either ).
