![]() Ratchet has been a busy boy lately with all the benching going on. He sat down with a whole slew of ATI cards and 2 different system configurations over the last week to bring you Aquamark3 performance across just about the entire 9xxx line of cards. I had planned on adding a bunch of additional commentary to Ratchet's fine article this weekend, but due to a family emergency my weekend schedule, well, didn't go exactly according to plan. For now I'll just say that you will note from Ratchet's benchmarks that aquamark3 appears to have significant CPU/System dependancies, and for the most part is not shader limited. This will likely be cause for very different performance characteristics between different graphics chip architechtures than we see in other recent DX9 benchmarks. Enjoy the full article Right Here

![]() The bars are in order from top to bottom as they are ordered in the legend at the bottom of the chart from left to right.

![]() Why isn't the Radeon 9500 (PRO) used for testing anymore? Recently a lot of reviewers just use the 9600 (PRO) instead but they are not quite the same! I think it's very interesting to see the difference between for instance: - 128Bit vs. 256bit memory -> Radeon 9500PRO vs. -> Radeon 9700 (PRO) - 8 vs. 4 pixel pipelines -> Radeon 9500PRO vs Radeon 9600PRO I know the 9500(pro) insn't available anymore in most countries but a lot of people (like me) do own them, especially in the rage3d forum... |

![]() Great review - stunned to see I am mentioned twice ![]() The guys at Massive did a great job as I am happily benchmarking now. I believe I have now asked about 70 hard quastions and received a hell of alot of good answers - thanks to Alexander and the great team at Massive Development - best of luck!!! Oh and on a Radeon 9700 Pro AMD 1.4GHz Win 2000 1 GB RAM I am scoring around 23,735 marks ![]() Last edited by gday : Sep 15, 2003 at 09:44 AM. |
