Angry MOHAA, XP, New Drivers, & Problems

I can't seem to understand it... but this happends when I run some games... anywho I just bought Medal of Honor Allied Assault last night, installed it, and tried to play it... here's what happends... I am running on a Radeon 7500 w/ the new offical ATI drivers (what is it 6015?? or something like that)... anywho I used to have the Omega Drivers 1.1.18 and I could run typical games... but no Counter-Strike (not worried about that)... but in MOHAA I attemp to do basic training... and it loads up to the end of the bar and all I hear is one footstep (from the game)... and BOOM!!! it freezes up... that's all that I can tell you (that's all I know now)... but the game just freezes up the whole computer... I mean I can't do anything at all.. so anywho anyone have any suggestions?? I am going to attemp to put in the new Omega drivers in today... but if anyone has any nifty tricks so I can play MOHAA... please let me know.. I have been dying to play this game!! Thanks... ciao!

Default MOHAA works fine for me

I am using Omega 1.1.18's and all games including Counter-Strike and MOHAA (a dammed good game by the way) work fine for me but then again I may just be lucky.

There is a patch out for MOHAA and this may fix your troubles you can find it on FilePlanet. If you use a no-cd fix then you can find that at www.gamecopyworld.com.

Do you use a tweaker? I use Rage3D tweak, you may find that playing with some OpenGL settings may help. For example turn off Heirachical Z and turn on Hardware TCL, they made improvements on my system. My housemate has a near identical setup to me and he had similar trouble to you; he uninstalled and reinstalled the game a couple of times, put the patch on and now it works!

I'm sure this is the "Fast Z-mask clear" problem!

If "Fast Z-mask clear" is enabled, Radeon 7500's will freeze in OpenGL games!

Get Rage3DTweaker, goto the "OpenGL (Private)"-list and uncheck "Fast Z-mask clear"!

This will solve your problem for sure!!

Cool Tweaker

I have the new version of Radeonator.. I couldn't seem to get Rage 3d to work well... but then again I didn't take time to mess with it too much... anyone be as so kind to post a link for Rage 3D Tweak?? Thanks! Ciao! I see the new Omega Drives are out for Win Xp... I think I'll give them a shot... Any other ideas to fix this.. just incase the game doesn't run???

He he, the Radeonator should have this option too!

Look for the OpenGL-Private-Tab, under the headline "Hyper Z settings" you will find "Fast Z-mask clear"!

Uncheck it and MoH will run ;-)
