Yeah you're gonna have to redo a bunch of the controls for some reason

I've been playing about with the F15. I can't say I was an expert but it seems to me that it handles fine if you keep your airspeed up. It's only as this drops that the thing starts to fight you and do it's own thing.
Certainly, I've had no special problems with it though I feel I need to be a little bit gentler with take offs and landings.

Update Time

Hey guys,
Well it's been a little while since the last update so I thought I'd bring you up to speed on what's been happening over the past few weeks.

As you know we're gearing up ready to release the Hawk to you and that involves the testers trying to break things and we fix them for them to break them again so we can fix them a little bit more. Boring right, well that's what makes the perfect DCS aircraft so that's the process we go through and have been going through since we gave the 1.2.8. version to the testing team.

Suffice to say we're having a little issue with certain navigation systems that Tango is working through with the testing team.
We opted to create our own navigation system for our aircraft. There were a few reasons for this that have been mentioned already, for current and future aircraft.
With this brings inherent problems that I'm confident Tango can work through.

Work on the rear cockpit has been ongoing for a while now and I've shown off some eye candy recently showing that. The rear cockpit modelling is almost finished and will be handed over to our cockpit texture artist very soon.
We will then start work on the switch implementation system in tandem allowing for front and rear control of the aircraft via seat switching.
Multiplayer control and dual sharing of the cockpit will come down the road later either using ED's system or our own.

Which brings me on to the re-texturing of the front cockpit. The textures you currently see and will get at release are our basic textures. Very soon after public release we will release the high-res pack as part of a patch. I'll post up some comparison shots soon but want to let the team get on with it a little bit more before I do that.

We're working with ED to implement the Hawk into core DCS as an AI aircraft.
This means that even if you haven't bought the Hawk, you can still see it flying around in the sim negating the need for a multiplayer patch.
We're also working together on fixing a few key bugs that are preventing public release.

I have a military tech demo this coming Friday so have been busy mission writing and fine tuning a few things for that.

When I'm back next week I'll be finishing off the manual, training missions and missions that will ship with the public release.
We also have a few volunteer translators that will first translate the quickstart manual, followed by the full manual.

The voice overs for the training missions are also being recorded and will be updated into the training missions at a later patch.

Which nicely leads on to the patching system. We are in discussion with ED on how best to patch the aircraft in future. As I've mentioned the Hawk will be part of core DCS but that opens up discussions on SFM/EFM versions and we're working through that at the moment.
We can guarantee that it will be the least inconvenience to you that won't affect the version you have bought.

And on to the CRM system, this is the front and back end processing for taking orders and payment from our web site. Work has started on the back end and front end pages and we'll be letting our testers have a little play with that soon.
Part of that system are the product pages which are almost complete for the Hawk.
We've elected to mirror the ED website product pages so it is familiar to you, and so we can easily implement the product within ED's own website and Module Manager.

Licensing issues with BAE are ongoing with our lawyers but hopefully we can get to a resolution quickly.

That's a pretty good snapshot of what we're working on and I hope to bring you some more eye candy really soon.

As to when we will release, well you'll just have to wait and see....

Thanks,
Chris.

Hi Guys,

With everything that is going on with the Hawk I thought I would show you guys one of the other models that we are developing.

For those who are unfamiliar with it allow me to present the Shorts Tucano.

A Twin seat trainer aircraft in primary use with the Royal Air Force as the stepping stone between the Grob Tutor and the BaE Hawk.

We hope you like the way this aircraft is shaping up as much as we do!

I am sure you will see more of this aircraft in the future

All the best wishes to everyone

Mig-21Bis Update
http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...95&postcount=1
Quote:
Hey Folks!

It's been a while since the last update. Even though we've been around and posting quite a bit, it might, in hindsight, be a good idea to consolidate info more frequently into a single thread as a dev update.

Progress over the past month has been excellent. We are getting closer to a finished product with every single passing day; and it's a fantastic feeling to see three years of work finally come together.

In the past few weeks the entire team has been crunching hard to meet various deadlines, primarily the very important Duxford public showcase. A herculean effort with 17-20 hours of work per day has been the norm for the past few weeks. Many elements which were awaiting integration (rather than creation) - like the new pilot, new damage modelling and a few other components have now been implemented into the Sim. Bar a few minor details, the aircraft is feature complete.

Once again, a massive thank you to the VEAO team for taking the time and effort to showcase the MiG-21 at Duxford. We consider ourselves very lucky to have the chance to work together with such kind and considerate individuals. If any of you spent some time with the MiG-21 at Dux; feel free to share your thoughts or impressions either here or in a separate thread. We'd love to hear them!

So what is left?
-- Bugfixing and Polishing
-- Normal and Specular maps for various external parts
-- Minor additions to the manual
-- Completion of Manual localization (2 languages already complete!)
-- Copy editing of Missions and Eng Manual
-- Creation of various UI, Manual and Quickstart Guide images
-- Replacement of legacy Weapon Art (in advanced progress)
-- Multiplayer Compatability Testing
-- More Bugfixing
-- More Polishing
-- DVD Artwork, physical goodies, more
In a day or two; some of us will once again head into the relentless crunch, as we embark upon the final phase of this project. There is a light at the end of the tunnel; and we are as motivated as ever to reach it as fast as we possibly can.

In closing I'll leave you with a short, very simple, and very basic video (told you not to get hyped up yet! ) of a dawn mission take-off.
Don't expect too much; it's intention is to just hold you over until the next two arrive, which are coming very soon.

http://youtu.be/Pht5DFdEgBU

Going on 24h again; so sincere apologies for my succinctness and garbled English.

As always: Thanks for sticking with us and looking forward to the MiG-21. We can't wait to see you all fly it; and we're working hard to make that a reality as soon as possible.

Cheers!
LS

F-86F Sabre on July

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125117
Quote:
Press Release

DCS: F-86F SABRE TAKING OFF IN JULY 2014

DUXFORD, UK, May 29th, 2014 –The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics in cooperation with Belsimtek to release DCS: F-86F Sabre as a digital download in July 2014

The North American F-86F Sabre was the most capable western fighter of the early- to mid-1950s. This swept wing, single engine jet was the most important western aircraft of the Korean War and often tangled with Russian-made MiG-15s over the infamous “MiG Alley”. It was a hard struggle not only for the Korean sky, but also between two excellent aircraft builders of the East and West. In addition to its primary role as an air-to-air fighter, the Sabre could also carry bombs and air-to-ground rockets to attack ground targets.

The Belsimtek simulation of the Sabre is by far the most authentic recreation of this famous warbird to date. Feel what is to fly the Sabre with a professional level flight model, an interactive cockpit, fully functional weapons, a detailed damage model and a richly detailed aircraft. Experience the strengths and weaknesses of the Sabre in combat and find out why seasoned fighter pilots often look back at the Sabre as the most enjoyable aircraft they ever flew.

As part of DCS World, fly the F-86F Sabre in a fully realized combat environment with working weapon systems and capable air and ground threats.

Teaser video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo7M...ature=youtu.be

Key Features of the DCS: F-86F Sabre:

• Unmatched flight physics that allow you to truly feel what it's like to fly this legend
• Highly detailed six-degrees-of-freedom cockpit
• Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse
• Fully modelled weapon system
• Accurate F-86F Sabre model, squadron markings, and weapons.
• Detailed modelling of the F-86F Sabre instruments, weapons, engine, radios, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Battle the MiG-15, the Sabre’s nemesis over Korea.

ABOUT DCS WORLD

Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) is a free-to-play digital battlefield, focusing on military aircraft simulation. It includes a FREE TF-51D and an Su-25T attack aircraft. DCS World includes a vast mission area of the Caucasus region that encompasses much of Georgia - the location of the 2008 conflict. Further maps will be available in 2014.

Additionally, DCS World includes:

• Powerful mission and campaign editors
• Multiplayer
• Massive inventory of air, land and sea combat units and weapons
• Advanced AI

Add Labels attributes list directly in LotAtc Client
New variable %(vert_indic) for aircraft labels
Add %(vert_indic) to default labels

More here: http://lotatc.dartsite.org/news/41

Next?

The next main release will be the 1.0.0 with share drawing support, Glide ILS support, a new client UI, new options for server... Lot of these are already coded and will be stabilised in next weeks
The full approach with taxiways/tower view will certainly postponed in 1.1.0 because I am waiting the EDGE released to make all airports correctly.
It is a change from my initial roadmap but I prefer to release the drawing part that is already ready with the updated UI of client, then concentrate my work on EDGE support (multi-map).
Here some screenshots of the current 1.0.0-alpha1. UI is far to be finished but it will give you a good preview of my current work, no fake in that, all of feature shown in theses screenshots already works!

VEAO Q&A Ha1112 Buchon
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125149
Quote:
Welcome to the Questions and Answers thread for the VEAO Hispano Ha-1112 Buchon.

In this thread feel free to ask any questions you have regarding this module and myself and the rest of the VEAO team will do our best to answer them as best we can.

To cover a few commonly asked questions from the warbirds thread :

• No ETA yet
• The Buchon will have EFM to PFM standards
• Full ASM
• Our intention is to do the Spanish airforce variant
• Potential for the converted Bf109 lookalike akin to those at IWM Duxford

One of the primary questions that we are always being asked is why the Buchon rather than a real Bf109?

Well there are a few reasons, one major one is that we can lay our hands on several real airworthy Buchon’s, we have access to pilots who have flown them, to detailed mechanical information (that is in English!). The engine is something that we also have ready access to.

It is our philosophy that all of our modules will be completed to military specification. With that in mind having access to airworthy aircraft is very beneficial to us. That’s not to say that in the future we wouldn’t travel for access or do aircraft where we only have access to statics, but for our initial wave of releases it’s something that we had to consider.

If you guys have any questions for us then this is the place for you!

I can’t promise that we will answer all of them (usual NDA stuff applies etc etc) but we will certainly try!

Keep an eye out for the Eye Candy thread and the Dev Diary not only for this aircraft but for the other warbirds as well!

All the best

Pman

Leatherneck Mig-21Bis Urgent Info

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125172
Quote:
Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we are unable to procure the list of backers who financially contributed to the DCS: MiG-21 in 2012.
We are left only with one alternative, and that is to manually collect these details into a database of our own which we can then act upon when we release the aircraft.

Please keep this thread clean and for any questions only.
We'd like to avoid revisiting past issues and grievances, so please do not use this collection as a reason to call for legal action or personal denouncement.

Feel free to spread this thread and information within wherever you think you may find a MiG-21 backer.
Feel free to PM myself, -Rudel- or Dolphin887 if you have any other questions or concerns which you do not feel comfortable posting here (or e-mail us!)

We hope we can reach everyone in time.

--------------------------- IMPORTANT! --------------------------------------

Those of you who have backed, and for us to confirm that you have done so, need to provide the following:

FULL NAME
SHIPPING ADDRESS (Country, Postal Code, City, Street, House #, Floor, Shipping Name)
BACKER LEVEL (Popular, Valuable, Normal, Big, High value, Bonus, Extra, Special, Extra Special, or Top Special)
CONTACT E-MAIL

SCREENSHOT OF BACKER PAGE

EXAMPLE:

You may black out part of your profile name and any other projects you have backed.
If your information is unsatisfactory we will let you know.

SEND THIS TO:

Code:
[email protected]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We take your privacy very seriously, and will not disclose any sent details to any third parties.
The purpose of collecting these details is solely to be able to reward the backers who supported
the project financially.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,
Leatherneck Simulations

Quote:
Dear DCS Community,
With upcoming modules for DCS consumer products and military contracts we are in need to fill positions for certain projects.

Preference would be for candidates to have a working knowledge of DCS integration at a developer level but it is not necessary as guides and tutorials will be given by existing development team members.
Knowledge in the given position is a must and proof of concept work may be required if proof of past work cannot be given.

All works carried out are under full contract terms and conditions with agreed invoicing and payment terms between VEAO and the individual / company.
Full terms will be discussed during the interview process.

Certain military contracts will require security clearance and checks will be carried out so applicants must take this into consideration and again this will be discussed during the interview process.

A signed Non-Disclosure-Agreement will be required prior to stage 2 interviews.

There will be a 3 stage interview.
Stage 1 - Initial discussion with candidate regarding their current/past/future works and general VEAO development process.
Stage 2 - With NDA signed; discussion on VEAO current and future projects, development process structure and detailed examples of past/current works by the candidate demonstrated.
Stage 3 - In-depth interview by existing development team members. Proof of concept projects may be required.

Candidates going forward past stage 3 will be given a template full contract to review prior to signing.

All works will be sub-contracted to contractual milestones and we are not currently taking full time positions as employees within the company.

VEAO Simulations Ltd is an equal opportunities employer.

All applications must be emailed to [email protected]
A CV / Resume is required detailing past and current works related to the position applying for.
Any applications received without a CV / Resume will not be considered.
Candidates will receive a response within 30 days of submitting their application.

External Flight Model (EFM) to Professional Flight Model (PFM) standard programmer
Internal cockpit and external liveries texture artist
Digital display (HUD/MFD/MHDD/Radios) texture artist / programmer
