Exclamation

Notice how the FPS have been conveniently obscured by the
XBT logo? It's probably only pulling 4fps or so. I'll stick w/my 64mb VIVO thanks.

Unhappy

Yeah well...at least it RUNS the test, which is more than I can say for the Radeon.

thats it? hmm it only looks like bump mapping + reflection mapping

I dont know whats the big deal with programmable pixel shaders, heck, if they want flexibility why not go with the ps2 architecture? its the same basics.

Ass the ATi guy wandering around here said, the pixel shaders on the Radeon are missunderstood, the are not the kind of shaders the DX 8 standards call pixel shaders, so don't blame ATi for it

Dudes... If you even believe for a second that the GF3 can crank out games with those kind of graphics, you're fooling yourselves...

Tech demos are pointless. They in no way represent real-world performance. Just like 3dMark 2001.

actually, fps on the nature bench are not so poor. w/ highend system, ie. untweaked 1.2athlon, 20 fps at 1024 X 768
check it out here:
http://www.digit-life.com/articles/g...2k1/index.html

what's sweet is how well the radeon does against the geforce2 ultra on the high detail benches. check out the spanking w/ dragolithic!

You can do that on nvidia boards, using a registry switch called emulateNV20. The only draw back is that it is about 10'000 times slower. You would be a lot better using the DX "Pure" software Hal in the SDK.

Either way I be it's rather easy to redirect the calls so there right and I bet it wouldn't take to much effort and it would save ATI on the pixil shaders
