Well thats an option, if shes onboard with it.... shes kinda shy.
But mostly just because i usually have low lighting in my room.

EDIT: Come on there has to be someone out there who knows about these little ritters.

I highly recommend the Logitech QC 9000. The image clarity is really good. The Automatic RightLight™ 2 Technology works great for me in low light environments. I haven't had any issues with this webcam for almost a year now. From Windows XP x86, to Windows 7 Ultimate x64, I've been pleasantly surprised with this product, and its ease of use.

The smaller ones can be good, as long as they have a higher quality build. I can only speak for the products that offer RightLight tech as I have experience with it. The two Logitech cams below should be considerably cheaper.

Logitech

Logitech® Webcam C600 - Incorporates Logitech® RightLight™ Technology***

Logitech® Webcam C500 - Incorporates Logitech® RightLight™ Technology***

RightLight™ 2 technology
  • Even if you make a video call in dim or poorly backlit settings, the camera will intelligently adjust to produce the best possible image.

Microsoft
Based on their descriptions, the following Microsoft cams incorporate low light solutions. I can't speak from personal experience.

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema™ (NEW)

ClearFrame Technology
  • ClearFrame image-processing technology delivers smooth, detailed video, even in low light conditions.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000

Auto-Adjustment for Low Light Conditions
  • Get superior video quality with automatic low-light adjustments.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000

Superior Low-light Performance
  • Auto-adjusts for low-light conditions.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500

World-Class VGA Optics
  • Your view is always amazing, and in focus at all times; auto-adjusts for low light conditions.

Microsoft LifeCam Show™

World-Class High Definition Optics
  • World-Class HD Optics with a glass element lens provides vibrant, rich video quality that is always focused-even in dim lighting.

I checked on webcams offered by Creative, but none seemed to have anything to counter low light performance. Actually, their flagship unit struggles badly in dim situations.

If you feel the need, you can view them here. I believe their best model is the Live! Cam Optia AF.

Hope this helps you in making a good choice.
