are your running in 32 bit colour?
because in 1024 resolution, with 32 bit colour, I have 16 FPS, in 1024 with 16 bit colour, I have about 60 fps...

Truth is, we are all experiencing shocking results with the performance of this game. I'm running a Duron 1000mhz, Radeon 7500 64mb DDR, 256mb ram, 20gig WD 7200 HD, and in multi-player i only get around 15-50fps. and its usually 20-30fps most of the time in a crowded game. Lowering the color level, like Spankmaster sugested will most likely increase the speed, but the game will look grainier, and smoke and explosions wont look as good. Stick with ATI's certified drivers, the new ones, 6071. Only system ive seem the game run on flawlessly is a AMD XP 2000+, 512mb DDR 2700, GeForce4 TI4400, with a enhanced WD 7200. It runs 110-150fps WITH 4x AA enabled!! Thats pretty amazing....anyway, maybe its time for a system upgrade.

two of the most performance sapping options in JK2 is the volumetric shadows and the "very high" texture detail option. turn those off and it runs great...even on my K6. Well, unless I get to a big open level with lots of enemies.
