You mean Beyond Meat burgers?

I've had them and they are pretty good. I bought the patties from the grocery store. You get two 4 ounce patties for $8 Can.

I bought them on sale for $6 Can. Still expensive compared to real meat.

I tried the fake meat tacos from Del Taco when they first came out. Didn't like them and haven't had them again.

They were a lot soggier than regular tacos. They seemed to have a lot more liquid in the ground "beef", I guess to keep it from seeming dry without the usual oils from actual meat.

I don't know what the fake burgers would be like, but I'll probably try one -- I like to keep an open mind (or open mouth)

Been loving the Impossible Whopper.

That said, you'd know if it were fake meat. Also, a fast food chain wouldn't use fake meat, it's not cheap.

Subway had the scandal of the chicken containing 50% chicken DNA. You would think that chicken would contain 100% chicken DNA.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/mar...food-1.3993967

And McDonalds claims of 100% beef when the burgers weren't soy+meat filler from years ago. Back in the day the egg used to come from a carton, now they are real eggs.

They say you are born with all the taste buds you are going to have then you lose them as you get old. Many of you sound really old with your tastes like real meat.

Good for you though, you can eat lots of nasty dollar store crap now and enjoy crap normal people could never stand. JK

I have not tried it yet, I want to though, I have only heard good things.

How does saying it tastes like real meat make one sound old? We gave one to my 13 year old nephew and he was AMAZED that it wasn’t “real” meat.

I’ve talked **** on plant based cuisine for YEARS. This is some legit good stuff.

While burgers that taste like meat and are made out of plants will be around for a while, I see lab-grown meat taking over in 40+ years. Not sure what it will mean for farmers though, probably the end. Although I suppose there will be a market for real real meat.

Sounds like it's just better to keep growing it the old fashioned way. Also, we don't want to eat bug meat. If we did, we'd be doing that already.

Whole Foods CEO Says Plant-Based Fake Meat Is Bad For Your Health (But Good For Environment)

“I don’t think eating highly processed foods is healthy. I think people thrive on eating whole foods,” he added. “As for health, I will not endorse that, and that is about as big of criticism that I will do in public.”

Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.” 5) For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice [...]

8) However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.
Like 12Bass says, critical thinking and the scientific method are probably the best tools we have to avoid it. (bias)

However, this method relies on repeatable, falsifiable hypotheses and theories. Only an extremely small spectrum of time and space can be rendered into these, or at least a good approximation of such.

Actually you DO want to eat bugs as they are very good for you. Reason you don't is because society deemed it as a gross thing.

McDonalds just got onto the Beyond Meat bandwagon for some of their stores in Ontario as a test. Maybe they see the economics of it down the road when volume production kicks in. Or maybe they just see the value in a gourmet style burger.

After borking all their main sandwiches wth the recent revamp they will have do something,... Little more than greasy slop now especially the Big Mac.

Im still wondering what the carbs will be for some versions of veggie burgers vs real meat...

Slathered in ketchup, mustard and something that’s being described as a “mayonnaise-style sauce,” with lettuce and tomato spilling out of the toasted bun, McDonald’s (MCD) new P.L.T. burger tastes just like any other one on its menu.

Except it’s not.

The P.L.T. – which stands for plant, lettuce and tomato – is McDonald’s first plant-based burger and, for the next 12 weeks, it will be tested out exclusively in Canada.

McDonald’s announced Thursday that it is partnering with Beyond Meat (BYND) to try out a plant-based burger at 28 locations across southwestern Ontario. The launch of the P.L.T. burger, which will be sold for CAD$6.49, marks McDonald’s first-ever offering of a plant-based product, a move that has been highly anticipated by investors as well as analysts on Wall Street.
Tim Hortons sold BM for some time but doesnt look like itll be a staple for now...
