lol.

Regardless, I agree with them. If they release an Exynos version with WCDMA/LTE and none of that "edge" bs.... I'll jump on board. $900-1,000 for a smartphone.. Its getting kinda ridiculous.

Im fine with my rooted and OC'd Note 5 (and my non-rooted one).

I have the exynos version of the note 7. You can buy one for 800 look around.

People want more and better features with every single release so it doesn't surprise me. Also doesn't help that people line up to buy all this stuff either.

Apple could release a $1600 iPhone 7 with hardly any new features and people will line up around the block to buy it

Wow. The Note 7 is STILL slower than the iPhone 6S.

Good grief Samsung. Fine tune your stuff.

Bait article. It doesn't help that samsung uses 2 different cpus across the board. The exynos is over 1min faster than the Variants tested by US media outlets running that same loop. However, with that being said if I were to take my 6s and run an app loop vs my exynos note 7 or s7e, yes the iphone will loop thru faster but in actual life usage no difference. This is before we consider the other aspects of such as actual multitasking not app switching.

The Note7 is also running at about 4x the resolution of the 6s.

Running the same test with a 6s plus will show that it is slower than the 6s. Probably will show that the 5SE is faster than the 6s and 6s+.

My rooted Note 5 isn't doing to bad with a 3.0Ghz A57/1.7Ghz A53 big.LITTLE configuration. It's heatpipe actually isn't to bad at dissipating the heat from the SoC at that speed but after 2-3m of full load it starts to throttle. 2.2-2.3Ghz is the top for the A57s without any throttling longer than that.

The M1 Mongoose cores in the Exynos chipsets now... are freaking beastly.

Played with a 7 for like 30 seconds at Best Buy the other day. Seemed very light weight, thin and quick. Is the gorilla glass 5 like paper thin for it to be so light weight?

Give me a break, you'll never notice it in real life usage. See The Verge's opinion on the matter too, it can be faster than the others due to variable i/o. Either that or get an Exynos version.

Coworker got the Note 7, side by side to my Note 5.. I think I'll wait until next year. Just not enough to justify the hassle.

The new Exynos setup supposedly coming next year, with integrated modules, seems beastly. Might not be a bad idea if you're going the Samsung route.

My daily driver Note 5 suffers from burn in. Sucks. Not even my ZuneHD has burn in yet.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and so far it feels vastly superior to my Note 5.

The battery lasts significantly longer, the type-C connector allows for fairly decent file transfer speeds (beware though, the bundled cable is USB 2 only, need to buy a separate data cable to make full use of the speed).

TBH I was bitterly disappointed with the lack of MicroSD on the 5 so I'm absolutely stoked that they bundled it with double the internal storage AND a 128GB card as well.

Sound quality with my Shure SE846 IEMs is noticably better than the Note 5 and it can drive my B&W P7s which my Note 5 couldn't do well.

I use Nova Launcher prime (touchwiz can suck my sack) and the phone, by and large, feels much quicker. My only gripe is that my OTG cables no longer work, as in, the type-C adapters just won't work with the microUSB OTG cables I purchased just a few months ago, super annoying. But they did include an OTG to USB adapter with it so it's not a complete loss.

Between that and the very high failure rate of the iPhone 6 generation, seems flagships have some issues currently

Hmm...I'm due for upgrade in March.
Was thinking just go straight for the Note7, but now I'm pondering waiting for the S8 to be revealed, and then judge if I want to wait for the Note 8...

and want to see what the iPhone 7 plus looks like first

Looks like they're doing a complete recall of all Note 7s. I wonder if it's because of this.

I asked... lol. Metal flakes in the battery cells. Puncturing the cell membranes and shorting them out. They aren't sure what batch # exactly is the culprit so they are just gonna recall them all and find out what it is exactly. (and recycle the batteries... )

Either way, the Exynos version of the Note 7 I can't use either. It needs to support W-CDMA. Only the Qualcomm version does as far as I can see. (Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, MetroPCS etc..)

I'd be more than willing to spend $950 of my bosses money to get a new phone if I could.

I purchased mine directly from Samsung NZ. They are sending me a temp phone with pre-paid return courier bag.

My friend and I are speculating that they'll send out an S7 as a temp phone due to the comments from the Sammy rep i.e. "put your sim and memory card in the temp phone and backup/restore to the temp phone" (memory card is 128GB which they supplied, how many android phones do Samsung have that support that AND a nano sim?). They told me to keep the temp as a free gift, so hopefully it'll be a free S7 or S7 Edge.

I was pissed but if that is the temp, I'm actually pretty stoked. I'll report back when I get it.
