I although have the very common multitouch issue where when having 3 or more fingers interacting with the screen at the same time, I will loose the response of one finger or more if you if all fingers are aligned on the same vertical or horizontal line. You can test this using Multitouch testing app here https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ro.tests&hl=en

Other issue I've been having is with the compass where I need to recalibrate it after each phone restart.

Im hoping both these issues will be dealt with in future updates

Other than those 2 issues phone has been perfect so far.

Edit: Noticed your issues were on the 5ghz band. Im on the other one. Gonna give 5ghz a try and get back to you.

Yeah, the drops I was seeing happened at the edge of my 5Ghz range, so I'm guessing it doesn't switch to 2.4Ghz gracefully or silently. Once I turned off the 5Ghz antenna I stopped having the problem. I don't really need it anyway. I'm mostly running an iPad, iPhone, and now the Note 3 on the wifi, so the 5Ghz speed is rather useless. Still, it's annoying when something is supposed to work and doesn't. O'well.

Ahh I see. Don't have any drops on the 5 ghz band either but then again Im never even near being at the edge of its range. Ide have to test the switching between both bands just to make sure. Wasn't even aware our phones could auto switch on the fly like that. Its not something I really use. My phones wifi is really only used at home and at work I don't have access so when I leave for work I turn wifi off.

I have the Verizon version and I honestly have not found any need or reason to root/unlock/install a custom room.

FoxFi and Pda NET work great for tethering, no warning pop ups nothing.

The phone has more then enough ram/cpu/gpu power that it can over come the horrible touchwiz based ui.

I would much rather have a smooth AOSP UI with more customization options than a smooth TouchWiz (and to be fair, it does run very smooth) with less customization options and tons of useless crap installed.

CM 11.0 = 200-300MB
Stock ROM = 1.2GB

I bought this phone for the screen size and the hardware specs, don't really care about the S-Pen and all the other junk Samsung puts on their phones.

I ran cm on the note 2 and tbh. The note series isn't the same without all the spen stuff. Therefore I will be sticking to touchwiz builds on my note 3. I don't need a giant s4.

Bought mine in November and still stock today and the reason for that is theres more to loose than to gain from rooting and installing a custom rom.

I played a lot with custom roms with my sgs2 and found that although some of these roms are kewl theres always something that doesn't work so In the end I would just go back to stock. Say what you will about touchwiz not being what you want it to be, its still by far the best rom there is when you want all of your phone's features to just work.

Agree to disagree Up until about a week ago, all the custom ROM's were all TW based stock anyway. Most are just debloats with some extra tweaks and such. I've been running one now for a couple months and other than GPS, which is affecting a lot of people on stock, this phone runs just fine.

Hoever, I miss a lot of features from the ROM's on my old phone, so I am excited to see this surge in development.

I installed kitkat 4.4.2 officińal polish version with my modem and csc and I can flash back to stock if I want to. Apparently most other note 3 versions can't.

Here's the thread with instructions.

I've decided to sell my note 3. I love the phone but the UI is killing me. I hate to see such a great phone be wasted by crap software (pen software is killer though). I really wish Samsung would update their UI to something more attractive. In the meantime I will be using a blackberry z10 as my daily driver and using the money from selling the phone to buy a 32GB Ipad Air

Twice now I've noticed my Note 3 reboot for no apparent reason. I'm assuming a background app is crashing or something, but coming from the iPhone world I've never seen a misbehaving app take down the whole system. Any ideas?

Thats an equivalent of a BSOD in windows. If the phone reboots itself, one of the android processes has crashed.
