Jarcade is pretty good for playing mame games at work with a wireless ps3 controller (via sixaxis controller)

Supports TV-Out flawlessly too

Don't forget SetCPU - thou shalt overclock all thy devices

PowerAMP is mandatory for a decent equalizer on local music, Subsonic has one for streaming from your main PC music collection but it isn't as configurable

Dice Player is the best movie player for Tegra 2 tablets at the moment, although MX Player is catching up

Plex is a sorta usable alternative to Air Video

AnDosBox is a more fully featured version of dosbox - if you have an asus transformer with a keyboard, it can be pretty fun but can't properly run doom even at 1.7 ghz

ScummVM is obvious

Perfect Viewer is great for reading retro video game magazines

new game on the market called jelly defense. tower defense type game, i'm liking it a lot.

https://market.android.com/details?i...=order_history

minecraft was supposed to release for non xperia devices on thursday but they apparently ran into some bugs so they held it back. should be up in a few days.

Just for info: My printer has a USB port, I put a $5.00 bluetooth reciever in it and my tablet paired to it instantly with no app needed to install... just saying, the adaptor costs less than that app and now my phones and tablet are connected to the printer and print perfectly.

Will Dice player hardware accellerate 1080 videos on the tegra2 tablets?

Sadly, no. I've got the best results by using Badaboom to re-encode my videos to 1280x720 (or 1280x800) MP4 with 160kbit AAC audio. Dice can play .MKV files, but those same MKV files often have 5.1 audio, which the Tegra 2 doesn't have enough power to decode (when combined with a high profile 720 video stream).

Annoying, huh? They say Tegra 3 will be out before Christmas, and then I'm sure high profile 1080p with 5.1 won't be an issue.

minecraft is finally available for non xperia devices. although it's 7$ for only creative mode, which doesn't sound like a good buy for me (but then i already have the pc version).

https://market.android.com/details?i...ng.minecraftpe

at least it has a demo to try out before buying.

Any good apps for backup? I thought I had a thorough backup of my apps, unfortunatley the "app backup" app only makes a copy of the apps themselves (worthless really), not any of your saved data (game saves, pictures, etc.).

Titanium Backup will batch backup all installed apps along with the settings you have configured for those apps

I use pdanet for that function. Does that one allow bluetooth connection? my only beef with the pdanet one is that you cant sms via bluetooth...

well the wifi portion works well enough! great! now I can get rid of pdanet. pdanet is annoyying cuz its kinda buggy sometimes and if I yank the cable by mistake, I have to reconnect to keep texting.

Thanks for the headsup!

Complete access to your contact-book, sms-messages and conversations.
Bulk-messaging and long sms supported. Password and secure HTTPS connection supported!
