Low and behold it fell and obviously it had to hit the only rock i had near my door step. Feel right on the speaker, where my case happened to stop ffs, and shattered my whole screen. Was kind of wonky and i had to get it fixed. $100. I was literally doing the whole vader, NoOooOOOOooOoOoOO when i seen the damage. Sigh.
Phone was sitting between my legs on the seat and when I got out of the truck it came with me. Hit the step rail then landed corner first then face down on the concrete in the rain. No chance for it.

Stupid I had it there, this has been happened in the car a few times and had zero damage. Always carried my phones naked, first time I've cracked one.

Now I have to decide whether to fix it or buy a new phone.

Ahh... hate those moments.
I usually prefer to go bare, but i bought a spigen ultra thin or something way back as its the minimalistic case i could find for it. I must say its saved me the few times that ive dropped it, but this one time the phone hit its one weakness... and hard. If the screen was totally usable i would have replaced the phone with something new, but it wasnt and i needed it so i had to repair it. I guess it makes for a good back up phone when i decide to upgrade.

Anyone having issues with video playback being all choppy with the default player? Using mx player, they play smooth.

And again with the recording audio quality, anyone see anything to fix it? This issue has me thinking of moving away from this phone which is a bummer. Overall the phone has been very solid for me.

My l'il baby gave up the ghost yesterday

Best phone I've ever had.

Went in and grabbed a Nexus 6. Going to probably give that to my parents (it's BARELY faster than the Nexus 5 ). The new Nexus 5 can't get here fast enough.

Sent it off to LG, waiting to get it back, repaired, soon

The Nexus 6 is growing on me, and I figure if I decide to keep it at the end of the day, I can simply go un-encrypted and make it a lot faster. The battery life has been good and all that but... I REALLY loved my Nexus 5

Next week can't come fast enough.

For those wondering, it wasn't the battery or the power button, but the board.

If your battery is dodgy, you can try and replace it. Lots of people on reddit say it feels like a brand new phone

I don't think that it was the battery. I'm leaning towards software issue. A factory reset would have probably sorted it right out. The phone wasn't really all that old, probably less than a year old.

Started after the last android update.

I'm happy with the upgrade. I'm on average getting more than double the SoT that I saw with the N5 on a good day.

My Nexus 5 is plugging along nicely. Fully encrypted, so a little laggy at times. Power button is getting a bit mushy.

Main irritation is the shoddy "OK Google" support. Sometimes it works normally. Sometimes there is a 5 second delay between speaking a command and the phone recognizing the voice input. Smart Lock never works reliably and the phone often gets confused when it wakes up to do something and then faceplants into the lock screen.

GPS gets twitchy as well when used in the car. Phone tends to lose its GPS signal while plugged into the charger (heat issue?)

I know this is the thread on the Nexus 5, but the Nexus 6 is now $350 on Amazon for the 32gb ($50 more for the 64gb).

Man, that looks like a great deal

If someone get's the phone and get's the unecrypted image, it's a lot faster as well.

I am in the process of returning mine (probably wait till my Nexus 5 comes back to me), but man, that white phone is sexy

My little baby is on it's way back to me

Should get my Nexus 5 back tomorrow. I've been flitting between my OG iPhone and Nokia 920 (W10 preview). Had the Nexus 6 for a week but returned that.

Well, I'll give this to LG, they did a good job "fixing" my phone.

Looks like they took my backplate off and put it on a brand new device

Just got done flashing back to Android M (preview 3) and am restoring.

Just got my Marshmallow update. First thing I noticed is video plays smooth again with default Player.
