![]() IM playing it now, and while the movement of the character is a bit crappy, the game as a whole is pretty great. My only real complaint is te hdr (old version), it takes like 5 second instead of 1 and its ****. Literally a white wall of nothing when looking out windows, and a black wall of nothing looking into door ways. Cannot for the life of me tell if im about to fall into a hole, or something is waiting to ambush me or what

![]() The HDR transitioning is **** in this game. While the overall game was great, I have to admit by the time I reached end game I was getting burnt out and was glad it was over. If you like to investigate every nook and cranny, do every single quest, clear every area of monsters at least once like you did in all the previous Gothic and Risen games, then this game is going to take a toll. It's really huge in that regard. Like my penis. ![]()

![]() Bought it a few days ago and returned it for being soft/hard crash bug infested. Around 30 mins of play time had 3 crash to desktop, 1 hard freeze that required logging out cause I couldn't get to task manager to shut it off, and close to a dozen screen freezes with sound and ability to move still going. Worse than a Bethesda developed game. ![]()

![]() I had gone searching before returning the game, this is by no means uncommon based off Steam reviews, the bugs that have been admitted to, and the Elex forums. It seems as if 1.0 was the best version.

![]() Wow - my first post in this thread was when I started the game on February 18th last year. Took me exactly one year to finish it, but tonight I did. 69 hours in-game, 89 hours per Steam. Finished at level 45, Regent. Looking at the global achievement stats, I see that I am one of very few who finished the game with less than 80 hours of in-game play (that is when you get the Honorary Citizen achievement). I thought I was doing things too slow but around level 35 I broke through a wall and the world was my bitch. The only things that gave me trouble were the fighting colossus maxhines because when I wildly swung my sword at them, they'd take flight. Figured out I had ranged weapons, so decided to use the black-hole launcher on it. Worked pretty well. Hybrid battle: Quick review: The world was too big for the game. I get a strong sense that the quest/story design team were stretched thin as there were many parts of the world with incredible visual/exploration depth but very little purpose. |

![]() As a fan of 3rd person melee action games, I cannot recommend DMC 5. I can recommend this one, though: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2...Devil_May_Cry/ |

![]() I played and thoroughly enjoyed the game but it's not a game I would replay (I usually replay all the games I enjoyed at least one more time down the road). In the beginning and around the middle I was thinking this is a great game to replay. However, this is one of those games where it's just too big. By the time I got to the ending (and don't forget the post ending quests), I was exhausted and felt I was doing the same thing over and over, just in different areas. By then, my outlook on replaying the game down the road was dimmed. The only other time I felt this was with Alan Wake American Nightmare, that game basically made you play it 3 times in a row (seriously, a chapter involved doing the exact same things in the same area 3 times in a row.... who ****ing designed that? ) This is one of those games where its so big, just enjoy for what it is while you're playing it now. By the time you get to the end, you'll be glad its over. Granted, I did every single quest (major and minor) and killed every single monster and searched every nook and cranny of the map for secrets (there are many).

![]() I had that problem with Gothic 3. The wonkiness of the combat, etc, is well known, but I really enjoyed the game at first and felt like it was a solid sequal to Gothic 1 and 2. But the game was just too ****ing long. There were three different lands, but after completing two of them I was ready to be done, and there was one whole land still to do, plus the finale. As the game outwore its welcome, all of the **** combat mechanics came to the forefront, causing me to hate it even more. I eventually resorted to god mode just to hurry through the last part of the game. I don't usually do that, but I simply couldn't bear to play any longer. Hearing that Elex may have a similar problem makes me less interested in playing it. The truth is, sometimes less is more, and it sounds like PB still hasn't learned that. |

![]() I liked it too. In Elex, you truly start off at the bottom of the food chain and really have to struggle and strategize to survive and get ahead. A lot more flight than fight in the beginning. Funny thing is, once I leveled up enough that the game started getting easier, it got too easy and I totally lost interest in it. Some of it was what Exposed mentioned (just too much of the same stuff), but I think I mostly missed the struggle from the beginning that made every accomplishment feel significant. |
