Iphone 3gs restore

To cut a long story short. I sync'nd and lost all apps and music. I have a backup of my HDD. What do I need to copy from the backup so I will get all my stuff back. Thanks

Doesn't your iTunes have a backup of your phone? How did you sync and lose all your data?

Updated system (see sig). My last Acronis backup is 210111.
I updated the iphone to 4.3 I think. Updated Itunes as well.

I didn't notice for a couple of days that I had some apps missing.
I think I went to sync the apps and it said that it would replace the apps on the computer with the ones on the iphone. (Too many beers that night!)

I done a restore then sync'd twice yesterday then I lost my music as well!!
But not my photos??

So my question was/is want folders do I need to copy from my backup so I can get all m y stuff back. Or is there another way of doing this. Cheers.

Why don't you just sync the missing apps and music over?

I have no music and apps on my comp. But I would have it on my backup! That's why I want to know what folders I need to copy.

Ahh, now I understand the situation. You upgraded your pc without backing up your music or transfering your library.

Well if the music was purchased through iTunes and the apps through App Store, you can always redownload it.

Failing that, your iTunes content is located in different places depending on your OS. See below:

Thanks for that. Found my old backup. Tried to use it thinking it would give me back my apps but all it gave me was 3gb of other??? Had a couple of apps that were free, lonely planet guides for London and Paris but there are not in my "paid"

Advice for the future, sync at least once a month. Manually select "Transfer Purchases", and manually create a backup. Find that backup and make a backup of it and keep it somewhere off your computer. Also learn how to transfer your iTunes library, it's always a pain in the ass to set it up again if you have a ton of apps/music.
