Default Android Parental Controls

Anyone tried any of the parental apps out there for Android? I'm thinking of getting my daughter a 7" tablet but the ChildPad looks lame and has some bad reviews. With that, I was looking at getting a standard tablet but running one of the parental control apps. To be honest, she does ok using my Xoom and my wife's Fire but we are typically around when she's using our tablets. If she has her own, who knows what she'll get into so I'd like to put something in place to help if possible.

Just looking for some input from those who have tried any of the currently available apps.

I have an iPad which has some nice features preventing my children getting things or where I don't want. My Xoom on the other hand is just too open to leave them on it alone especially being 3 and 6yrs old. I would say buy a cheap iPad 1 and be done with it.

Yea, not doing the Apple products. I appreciate the response though.
