Play it with the psx emulator. I think still have it somewhere on my HDD with the BIOS. SotN is one my favorite games. The composer did a great job on the music. I hope Bloodstained: ROTN is just as long and with multiple endings.

Remember most of the troubles with Mighty No9 were related to Inafune and Comcept not exactly the developer. Bloodstained also has a different artist which shows clearly.

It also is pretty technically sound (for an E3 Demo) from the start compared to Mighty No9.

I agree completely, that's why I really thought they had different people employed. It seems, like you said, the leads are different which is what makes such a contrast.

There's actually a large community of Vita players that swear by it as a great handheld. Modern gamers and Sony don't seem to care about that though. Always marching forward to focus on latest/greatest.

Seems like Asians (and Anime and Cosplay fans) are mostly the only ones interested in systems that are only portable, at least around these parts. I know the 3DS sold a lot but I struggle to find other adults who have one. I'm the only white person around who doesn't play all their portable crap on their phone.

They recently announced they are dropping Mac and Linux support. That's on top of a handheld they dropped support for earlier (Vita, I think).

I think they said some middleware is incompatible. Speculation is that it is a Denuvo DRM issue.

No refund option was offered, only the option to change platform. Supposedly, for the earlier handheld platform they dropped support for, they only gave a partial refund.

My intention was to play it on Linux, so it's disappointing. But I guess I can't really complain since when I funded it, I was still using Linux, so it wasn't something I was relying on.

Still, that's pretty weak. The game received well over the campaign goal. The no refund option is kind of bullshit. As much as crowdfunding seems like a nice theory for fans of niche game genres, it really is coming off as more of a scam. There seems to be a pretty consistent trend of over-promising, and under-delivering, and usually coming out late.

Wow, and I already thought it looked pretty good before. Graphics mean little to me with a game like this, I played Curse of the Moon and loved it. I just want great SotN inspired gameplay and I'll be happy.

I backed it on Kickstarter. I got my code last night. Tried to enter it in Steam. It said the code had already been redeemed. Tried again. Already redeemed. Went back to the keys page, and realized I was using the Curse of the Moon key. Scrolled down and got the proper key. Stopped to think about how big a dumbass I am.

Glad to hear that the game is good. I'll actually wait a bit, since they're adding a lot more content. Also, I'm currently playing the last game I backed on Kickstarter - Wasteland 2.

Played it for about an hour today. Really pleased with it so far.

It had the potential to miss big. It was delayed, the original graphics they showed looked like ****, the movement seemed floaty in the demos.

But my first impression is really good. Feels like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and that's what this game was marketed as. So if you enjoyed that game from the Playstation, then Bloodstained is exactly what you want.

The only complaint so far, and it's barely a complaint, is that they might have tried to do too much. There are so many different items to collect from enemy drops, which only seems to server the crafting system that doesn't really seem necessary. It's not much of a complaint to say that they did too much, but that's the worst thing I can come up with so far.

Also a bonus, it seems to work flawlessly on Linux through Steam's Proton. I get an occasional stutter, but I think that's the shader caching that is common on Proton.

I'll probably wait on this a bit more. They're bragging about offering a ton of free DLC, and there will inevitably be a bunch of patches in the first month or so. And I'm still in the middle of Wasteland 2. But I am looking forward to getting back to this game.
