Horrible. RIP to the victims.

No clue, I've heard the industry pays very little for the work but from what I've read this place pays decently so doesn't seem like a union vs capital thing. Seems like the arsonist claims the studio stole his IP? I can't remember if we've ever had a spirited IP law discussion here.

I'm not a big follower of animation studios but apparently they have come out with some pretty good stuff in the past, in fact I didn't know they were working on a second season of Dragon Maid!

Agreed. This doesn't appear to be P&R material. It's tragic what happened in Japan but literally zero news coverage that I've seen has indicated there's any other relevant topics associated with this.

Just kidding. This really is a horrible thing. I do not understand what process a person goes through, before arriving at this sort of behavior. And I don't think I want to understand.

What a disgusting tragedy. To burn people alive...
With regards to P&R, what my mind jumped to is international-mass-killing, as it relates to gun debate. Maybe that's not what was meant.

Gun rights supporters are quick to dig up (I think) Japanese knife attacks, etc. That's the only correlation with big P&R topics and this story I could come up with, since he has "Mass Murder" in the title... idk...

Horrible, fir was at Kyoto Animation home of Lucky Star and Haruhi among many other big name anime.

I could see the PR side as Japan is often singled out by the news as a PR example for "this or that" to use anime lingo.

But not going to take away from the from the survivors to delve into that garbage. May God be with all the families affected by this horror. I hope the studio can recover and care for them.

Update the GoFundMe for this has already hit one million in under 18 hours O_O
