Worth mentioning: Blizzcon started on Friday, the very first thing they did as the beginning of the keynote was apologize and say that how they acted was against their company ethos.




I doubt the video is hard to find, but they just straight came out and apologized at the beginning of the con. Yeah, it probably diffuses a lot of potential issues, but it's a good thing in my book.

They did halve the ban duration and give him his prize money, but that happened like a week from the actual event, not something that recent.

I don't know why anyone would take that guy's opinion seriously. First minute of the video he looks like a ****ing goober.

With that being said, what more do people want? They already backtracked, the CEO apologized, and they reduced the suspension/fines.

I like when Jim bags out games / companies. He's not afraid to just lay into them for shitty practices and he can be clever sometimes. It's probably not a good thing but I find myself agreeing with him more and more these days.

I used to not like Jim but after watching him for awhile hes become oddly tolerable. I usually agree with his points.

TRIIIIIIPLE AAAY. I go into his videos anticipating the worlds.

I agree with his points on Blizzard especially about Blizzard giving a bullshit apology. Im still not uninstalling anything though.

After watching the first 3 minutes of that video I'll never watch another one again. I also don't understand how he has over 600k subs lol. I really can't stand listening to his voice so if he made some good points then please relay them to me

I don't understand how it's a bullshit apology, though? Damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Again, what else do people want?

Hes definitely an acquired taste.

The biggest point for me that he made was Blizzard apologized, but they didnt say what they are apologizing for. They should have said "We are sorry for banning (whatever the **** the guys name is) for his political statement on China". Instead they just said sorry for an "incident". Bullshit apology.

Also the fact that they reduced the ban on the player from 1 year to 6 months. But if you were really sorry just get rid of the ban all together. A ban is something that they uphold everyday its not set in stone. He said they should release the ban but why havent they? Its because they arent sorry and still have to appease to China.

People are disappointed with the apology because the Blizzard CEO didn't directly address what happened. He just vaguely said "a tough Hearthstone e-sports moment." As an analogy, if you were a parent of young kids its akin to when the kid does something wrong and you want them to say sorry but also know and acknowledge exactly what they did wrong and WHY they are sorry and apologizing. It was kind of an empty half-ass apology and that's the problem.

Also about your opinion of Stirling just so I understand, you're basically judging him on the sound of his voice but not the content of his videos? Or you also generally disagree with what he says?

And ^this^ is the point that Jim makes, oh six or seven times in the latter half of the video (for those that made it that far ).

If we are sorry for doing wrong, we stop doing the wrong we are sorry for.

Blizzard isn't sorry. If they were sorry, they would (at a minimum) reinstate him as participant.

It's like when kids say they are sorry, but they're really only sorry they got caught and fully intend to do wrong again, but be sneakier about it.
