![]() Gabe should implement a special 60% cut just for EA titles. If they don't like it they can go to Epic. That's right EA, now go home and get your shine box. |

![]() The Steam offered Ubisoft titles have already been like that for a while (i.e. uPlay launches in the back). I don't really have a problem with that. |

![]() I suppose Origin was worth a try, right? For me, PC gaming is Steam & GOG. I'm not doing this Ubisoft/EA/etc. platform nonsense. |

![]() I hope this works out for them. EA is very capable of making good games. They just sometimes don't. The "lack of microtransactions" being a selling point for a game is a good sign. It would be hilarious if now Epic paid EA $$$++ to take their games off Steam and put on the Epic Games store. |

![]() I'll bet some of there titles, like Unravel, will still sell many units if offered on Steam. |

![]() I'd like to know the real reasons behind this change. Is Origin doing badly or are EA just happy to come back to steam now Epic are actively trying to reduce steam marketshare? |

![]() They gave Origin an honest chance to capture that 30% per game they were losing, but in the end they couldn't figure out how to capture the market that Steam has managed. They tried "On the House". They tried Prime monthly access. What they didn't try was making a competent storefront. For that, I guess it's cheaper to use Valve's than develop their own ( I know, not really, but I don't get why it seems so hard to accomplish). |

![]() They aren't getting rid of Origin, heck a developer on Steam stated that Origin is still required for Jedi Falled Order so that it can update the game, so updates won't even be happening through Steam, rather through Origin. So yeah, fully expect it to be an origin key from your Amazon order.

![]() Well yeah, but why now and not 2 years ago or 2 years into the future? By all accounts BFV did not sell well (half of BF1) and Battlefield II was down on their estimates, so maybe those are factors too. |

![]() I've never bought anything through Origin. Their prices suck and they never discount DLC even on ancient titles. The few games I have in my Origin library were $7 firesale physical media or promotion freebies. I only buy games during Steam sales so if you're not on Steam you're not getting my money. |

It will pay for itself within a year, as EA's Steam will introduce lootbox and PtW for every game on steam.
