Default Temperature Monitoring Programs

Hi all,

I use a number of different programs to "monitor" my temps and CPU usage and find it quite frustrating that nearly everyone of them give conflicting readings even when I activate them all at the same time!

Some of the ones I use are, AMD System Monitor, CPU-Z, Core-Temp, SANDRA and even windows Performance Monitor amongst others!!

Do any of you find any one of these tobe the more reliable?

I use these programs on my Computer in my Specs, but I also now have an AMD Trinity A8-5500 APU desktop and the readings of temps and APU usage fluctuates even more wildly than with my older computer and I simply want to see which is the more reliable one to use.

Thanks

I just use the All CPU Meter with PC Meter for my desktop gadgets. Works great. Also use GPU Meter that shows GPU temps, fan speeds- don't use anything else.

I use Asus AI Suite II (proc temps and case fan speeds) and MSI Afterburner (GPU temp and fan speeds). Both are alright and both allow custom fan settings. I'd prefer to use just one program to cover everything.

Are those gadgets just temp monitors or can you control fan speeds?

Just monitors. Show the temp of each core on my CPU, memory usage, as well as temp, fan speed, GPU and framebuffer usage. Pretty handy imo.

For fan speeds I use Intel Control Center and have the fan speeds maxed (still low enough RPM it isn't that noisy) on the CPU HSF and case fans, for the GPU I use CCC + AMD over drive and adjust the fan speeds based on what I'm doing (not gaming I put the speeds at their lowest due to the GPU framebuffer throttling down, gaming or such I upped the fan speed usually no higher than 50%).
