16384 shaders? dang... They have dropped prices lately but its finally looking like clearance prices... I think the 7950 will be 1500$.

Way it sounds lately tho theres only one compute die. Some recent leakers seem to be going that route. 1 Compute die and 6 MCD. Not sure they could fit 2 of those short of doing a dual gpu board a la R295x2.

i think the 7950 xt is or maybe 2 compute dies of 2x 7800 xt compute die the numbers match

there was some leaks that only the 7950 would be 2 compute dies q1 next year

I seriously doubt it but we will see. Do the games that have Nvidia RTX badging now work on AMD cards or are they still Nvidia locked?

I think the only game left that's is nVidia only for RT is Wolfenstein Youngblood. Everything else updated to standard RT API extensions.

But RTX branding now apparently means RT+Ai... RTX branding is a mess...

Yea they took out a lot of old hw that was more meant for pro cards. Itll still pack the 15-16k shaders and RT units. Looks like the rdna for gaming and cdna for pro segmenting is just about done.

So they think the each 'extra' 128 megs will be on its own chip and data paths the one 128 IF cache in the 6900xt... Not sure that will be true on 5 or 6nm node. It could be just one big cache on the Compute die or have smaller data paths on the separate MC dies... not being on die will probably cause some BW/latency hit.

they are banded in my book till 2037

they treated us like dogsh*t for the 20 or so years of bad AMD CPU's and we had to buy Intel
high prices
and they still need a new MB with every new CPU


so they got a 20 year moratorium after 2017 Ryzen release
I may not ever buy Intel again


and the Ryzen 9 7800X3D, 7950X3D are looking good if they make both this time
