Default Quake 4 interview with Tim Willits

IGN managed to get hold of Tim Willits, the lead designer at ID Software during a voice over session for an interview. The responses shed much light on the upcoming first person shooter Quake 4 which should be released "when it's done".
IGN: Has Doom 3's engine been tweaked substantially in any way to make Quake 4?

Tim Willits: There have been a couple of changes here and there to accommodate some of the game features, but for the most part, the game engine itself is largely the same. This is fine because the Doom 3 engine is incredibly robust and capable of handling detailed modeling, lighting effects and plenty of our other design needs. Some of the most significant changes you'll see are in the game code, particularly in the areas that handle the actions of player and the monsters, as well as scripting events. A lot of effort has been done to give the designers the necessary tools they need to make the game play as fun as possible.
