Default Valid Cert for HTTPS connections?

Any way you guys would consider getting a valid cert for HTTPS connections? I've been using HTTPS for a while and while the self issued cert is better than nothing I would feel better about one that issued by a known CA.

While I'm sure the admins and senior staff are logging in using HTTPS to protect their credentials, I'm not sure what benefit the certificate would provide unless the site was spoofed?

Yes an issued cert from a recognized CA would protect against spoofing.
