I have a 60 meg connection, all my other streaming is fine, but the Scyfy stream for this is like a crappy claymation movie. Anyone else?

Watched more episodes.. I was wrong in my initial thoughts. I'm now hooked.

Real good CG work. Wish they would have spent a few dollars on their cable work for weightlessness.

Told you it was just getting started. It's ratings may not warrant a 3rd season which would be a damn shame as it, like the book, just kept getting better. Tell your friends and family to watch the show. There's so damn little quality scifi shows out there on tv.

I'm confused about the origin of the blue entity. Is it part of the tech that powers the stealth ships or is it alien ?

It has nothing to do with powering space ships. I suggest re-watching the last two episodes if you have the time.

Their effects and general props / sets are top quality for a tv show. Looks to be quite a bit of depth in the show as well. I haven't read the books so its all new to me. Hopefully the ratings are good enough next season.

Finally saw the first ep and was impressed. Tonight I also watched the first ep of the FX show about the OJ Simpson case. I'm torn as to which to watch ep 2 next, and it's too late two watch both.

Fackin' 1st-world probs. . .

The Expanse does start off slow and for while you may wonder if things are going to go anywhere. But just soak it all in the show really comes into its own. In a way it reminds me of Star Trek they are not afraid to slow things down and explore the psychological nuances instead of the same old story lines and brainless action.

Best TV sf show since battlestar galactica.
for me the expanse is the first time SF been done right in space.
I watched the episodes several times as they are so spot on right.

"Attention all planets of the Solar Federation: we have assumed control! We have assumed control! We have assumed control!"

(Rush, 2112; borrowed in turn from Triton by Samuel R. Delany)

I couldn't help but think of that upon viewing the end of ep2 . . . "You are prisoners of the Mars Congressional Republic-- move and you die!"

It's been renewed, but I'm not sure if Sci-fi is ordering 10 or 13 episodes this time.

I like the show, the strange glowing substance seams to have a mind of its own , BTW wait for the flat Earth supporters (even talking about this makes me cringe) start to say this show or Star Trek or Star Wars or ANY sci-fi movie or series are using the WRONG theory about the universe.

Sorry for the off-topic but i add to do it.

cool... just finished season 1, like it quite a bit, would give it a 7 or 8/10...

Had a hard time following it for the first 2 episodes I think my attention kept drifting away because I was getting bored...

things I don't like about it:
- that older Indian chick with the super raspy voice, sounds like she's been a smoker for 150 years, every time she talks I cringe.
- The space battles are blurry and too quick, can't clearly see what's going on at times, and I like me some cool space battles...
- plot still moves too slow

things I like about it:
- glad they added Tyreese from the TWD...
- cool vibe and darker tone
- interesting factions
- decent acting and special effects

Enjoyed this series so much it got me listening to the Audiobooks. And once I got past where this first season ended I was thinking, how are they going to put on screen what I'm reading.

One the most anticipated season 2's I'm waiting for.

just finished a marathon of this 1st season, it's kinda sad that many scifi series these days have to accept a mere 10 episodes as a season...now this new series is definitely not trek style space scifi nor it is bsg style one, however I have the concern that the later seasons will devolve into zombie survival shows, that will be blah... if any of you have read the books, do tell me whether it become zombie survival story later or not?

due to such limited episodes I found it lack depth concerning the background of the story, heck despite it talked a lot about independent Mars government, it hasn't even shown us Mars colony/state itself, however the earth mars rivalry story remind me of babylon 5.

I have a question about specific filler story in the middle of this 1st season : there was a story about an uncle and his nephew whose job was smuggling and they were towing something in the middle of nowhere, so I take it in the end the uncle got mad and slingshot crashed his supposedly precious smuggling cargo to a martian patrol ship or such... wtf was that? it (I mean here that sub story itself) really came out of nowhere, showing us such baffling story and for what purpose? why did the uncle get so mad? why was he even mad anyway? and didn't he take a suicide in the end while leaving his nephew stranded in the middle of nowhere? what's the point of that story? it's not making any sense in the grand scheme of things.

He's the sick guy that locked himself in his quarter. He committed suicide from what I remembered.

It's waaaaaay beyond zombies in the books. Book 6 is due in December 2016 or so.

By the way, Daniel Abraham - one of the Expanse co-authors - writes good fantasy novels as well (see the ongoing The Dagger and the Coin series, among others).
