Ryzen perfomance before and after security Windows updates (test results)

Just installed the update today. Because it's weird cause last night, I just tried to ran Windows Update and still not received till now. I also re-benchmark CPU-Z and Cinebench....single threaded performance on CPU-Z was about only 10 score dropped but multi-threaded makes no difference. Cinebench makes no differences on both SP/MP. But i think it might affect I/O benchmarks...but I don't believe it would affect Ryzens, but it definitely would affect Intel I/O benchmarks.

Apple's statement today is that iOS and MacOS are already patched for "Meltdown" and have been for a while so long as you're doing all your updates. I think 10.13.2 came out early last month. The "Spectre" update is coming and will bring a performance hit of "less than 2.5%" in their tests.

Why is Microsoft patching Ryzen systems when AMD isn't affected by Meltdown and is only affected by Spectre in a very specific configuration on Linux? If I were on an AMD system i'd be pretty pissed about that.

Some IO operations are in the region of -30%, but not in tasks that you or I need worry about.

The 30% was estimated for datacenter centric tests and not gaming...This bug came from a corporate internal testing and not from an angry gamer.If the bug afected gaming too there was already a big anger unless of course one expects that the performance in gaming should have been 30% over the current performance of coffee lake...

We don't know the full impact until bios updates are out fixing the hardware side of it. The current windows/linux update is only a partial software fix.

Multiplayer gaming ... Gamers after all will get angry indirectly ... It may be a challenge to compensate for the patches performance hit for cloud services now.
