Should be interesting to see how this pans out for COD players ON PC. I know a few people who jumped on mw and mw2 after bf2 got old. It will be interesting to see if they come back to the good side.

And on that note I'm glad that we never have to worry about DICE telling us "it's not balanced for jets".

They had jets in BF2. The maps weren't "rather large" really. They were big I guess you could say, but not "large". Well you know what I mean. When you're in the jet, the map gets small real quick.

Note: The BF franchise is crap now. Thanks to consoles.

can't say I'm too happy about the prone. they should at least make it so you can't prone while moving, and than only be able to go prone from the crouch position.

exactly the friggin dolphin diphing in BF2 was f'n stupid as ****, I'd rather have no prone than those retards. Just like the jumping around holding a medpac in 1942.

I don't really see the problem with prone at all in BF2. For a start, didn't DICE patch it again in V1.51? I know it was a problem in V1.0, but it was patched several times. Then I believe it was still do-able, but only if you ran a clienside mouse script. If thats the case, set Punkbuster to kick for scripts...?

Anyway, as much as I hate the COD series now, that has prone, and "works" fine, so simply saying "no prone, noooooo etc" is rather shortsighted. Prone is fine, it just needs to be worked into the game so it can't be explioted.

No matter how much I hate dolphin divers in Black Ops, there were countless times in BC2 I needed prone to get behind low cover and be able to survive.

The easiest way to balance prone is make it take a while to get up from, and make your aim awful for a few seconds after initially going prone so you can't just spam it when being attacked.

tbh with luck of the draw chances are a person diving to prone will kill you before you kill them even with crappy aim.

So I would suggest as said above make it take longer and remove the ability to shoot at all while either going prone or getting up from prone, imo that would completely sort all prone related issues.

Really? I've played nearly every BF game since 1942 and I don't ever remember being inundated with hackers.

Hmm i figured not being able to squeeze the trigger during the animation was a given but i agree.

There are many hackers though, but i find they tend to stick to particular servers so it's easy enough to find games with out them, and there are far more games without than with.

Punkbuster? Seriously? That software is the biggest pile of steaming **** to ever be called helpful. It kicks legit players 100x more often than it does those that cheat. I've NEVER seen it kick a cheating player.

I've however been kicked by it, due to PB issues (even after going through hell - updating it - still not fixing the issue) more times than I can remember. Between PB and a few very annoying aspects of BF2, the damn game would have been great if not for PB. I mean, PB being a pain in the tail at times, not kicking obvious cheaters and the commander feature in BF2. Those few things irritated the hell out of me.

And I've NEVER cheated online. I'm not even sure how people do it, because I could care less. I wish people would stop using PB. Since it's existence I've never seen it do a damn bit of good.

qft. PB is the worst anti hack ever. Theres tons of anti PB hacks and they all work...PB has TONS of issues, its very likely its gonna screw up if you get a "non liked" hardware.
I wonder how they even call themselves anti hackers, they stop legit players from playing and their software is **** ans easily bypassed.

I disagree.

PB is nice, but it's plagued by "common" problems like :

- Antivirus disabling his services
- Firewall blocking PB services and checks
- Customs drivers and system overlays.

I'm not too picky about anti-cheat programs. Vac and PB are pretty much as good as you can theoretically get. Being a computer-programmer myself, I know that there will always be someone creating hacks for EVERY single anti-cheat, just like there will always be someone making a new virus. Vac and PB at least try and stay as much up to speed as possible. And dedicated servers with admins will usually take care of the rest.

Back when I played BF1942 competitively the ladder I played in required yet another separate anti-cheat program. During a championship match a hacker who had a vendetta against our clan hacked the program and made it look like I was cheating. So I was made to look like a cheater for about 3 days, when they finally reviewed the logs it became obvious that it wasn't me cheating, as the hacker left an ascii sig in the logs. So that's my lil story on anti-cheat programs

if someone wants to hack they will, yet they do keep the majority of hackers at bay.

Sure that would help, but I think a bigger problem will be camping snipers in their wookie suits prone in the bushes, it could get really annoying fast.
