3rd episode rocked!

According to my kids, they are really staying true to the Mando canon that was fleshed out in the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons. There are also some nods to stuff in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game.

Query from casual fan: If Baby Yoda is only 50 years old in this, aren't the times all dakked?

Isn't Yoda hundreds of years old by ESB? In The Mandolorian, they reference the Empire, but from the second trilogy, didn't the Empire destroy the Republic just a decade or two before Star Wars?

It's not actually Yoda. He's only called that because he looks like Yoda, and no one knows what his species is called.

Ive seen the three episodes so far and on one side I do like it far more than the usual bantha poodoo by Disney but there are some very serious problems with the show and the lore it attempts to convey or even claim to pay homage to in terms of the first two Star Wars KOTOR games which were also heavily flawed but amazingly like Republic Commando, never remade or revisited in the current HD game systems.

First episode problems were mostly saved by casting Carl Weathers as an actor in the SW universe... can you imagine a still physically fit Apollo Creed is still kicking arse in outer space.

Well I had a problem right away with when the creature bit and threw the Mandalorian like a rag doll... if anyone were to be bit by some creature which apparently may have some pounds of pressure comparable to a crocodile (which can crush bone) and throw you and there is no real explanation on if the Mandalorian character is either a cartoon character or a humanoid living flesh bag who could be suffering from severe internal injuries just from the bite alone, never mind being thrown and no that isn't nit picking... it's like the writers pulling things out of their arses to make "bad ass set pieces"

The general disdain for droids yet from C-3PO and other droids in the George Lucas SW films there is a sense that Droids have such a sophisticated artificial intelligence that they seem self aware and not really mindless rule book robots... C-3PO was a protocol droid and the KOTOR games had a well designed illegal assassin droid... however when IG-11 or whatever... he was portrayed more like an idiotic character... if he is a bounty hunter droid... he seemed to lack additional weapons, rifles, etc and it was more of a fanboy SW fan finally using CGi to depict the character like a child having a make believe play episode from back in the day which leads to Mandalorian character himself feeling this way with all the b.s. logic this show throws.

In AotC, Jango Fett was not flawless either but he was extremely tough and didn't fear removing his helmet while relaxing... because in AotC the premise was that like thousands of years ago, the Sith dark side users were exploiting warrior cultures like the Mandalorians who among other things seem to be a conflagration of old European knights and Japanese Samurai warrior code (and more) in that as KOTOR expanded, the Mandalorians live for honor in battle, prefer to die fighting a worthy opponent and are supposed to be more physically fit humanoids who also use enhancers to avoid injuries but then we're getting into Prometheus logic which certain people had problems with.

Now it is true that Boba Fett was introduced as this potentially really dangerous character that got comically killed off into the Sarlacc pit's mouth or stomach but judging from Jango's encounter with a Jedi in AotC (this was used as a way for GL to explain why the clones could eventually kill Jedis) that fight was more believable than the Mandalorian getting bitten on the arm and thrown by a creature and apparently there is no broken bones or injuries... common cartoon logic or bad writing.

It may have been predictable that the IG-11 droid was disposable because he was competition but eventually when the 50 year old Whill shows up... something about that doesn't make sense...

First or all, that character is said to be 50 years old and is being portrayed as having entirely black eyes when the two other Whills didn't.

The othet major problem is that apparently he cannot speak which it doesn't matter if he is force sensitive and able to manipulate the force with apparently no training (a bad premise like Disney Star Wars Rey) but is a lot like calling out the flaw of even Yoda having to use a cane when even humans that are 115 years old have different fitness levels and do not need a cane or a walker...

I could buy that Yoda needed a cane in ESB because he was in exile on a backwater planet with no access to the Coruscant health care and dietary habits and having to forage for food... plus the fact that he survived the battle with Sidious...

I just never bought the complaining and whining about why Yoda looked younger in Episode One and he should not have needed a cane or every old character is going to gave to use a cane just because some writer is feeling pressure to conform to another's ideas of lifestyles.

Things get worse with the Mud Horn creature or space rhinoceros pounding away at the Mandalorian but apparently there is no real danger of injury... hell once Luke's hand was cut... that was real danger shown.

I did like how it seems like the Mandalorian character is really starting out in skill level and proving himself in bounties and getting that Baskar Steel which seems like a nod to KOTOR II and how you got armor for the Mandalorian character to build him up...

I have a problem with the use or reliance of the arm flame thrower during a blaster rifle fire fight... apparently no one noticed how it's a big flaming sore thumb target just waiting to be rained death on? Who wrote this crap,

Even in WWII the soldiers equipped with flame throwers needed supporting riflemen because they could easily be shot and lost what with all that flammable material plus that flame being easy to see where you're located.

Then the show gets a bit weird with the Mandalorian getting "attached" to the baby plush toy $$$$$$$ character... warriors from fighting cultures are never supposed to be attached to anything... my only assumption is that he is under the influence of a force user which kinda doesn't make sense because he brings him and leaves him and all we get is another child playing with his SW action figures in a playset type action instead of real action like what GL did in the films, especially AotC...

I really didn't like the notion that if you leave your space ship, it can easily get ripped up by Jawas... what happened to anti-theft systems? Also it's a former Republic Clone Gunship... pretty weak design choice for a ship and just rehash... it will get worse if this character finds Slave 1....

Also even Darth Maul used droids for support and scouting... so this attitude against droids which is understandable if corrupted but it is a flawed attitude...

Also I really resented the mere mention of the word "fuel" that comes from Disney writers and TLJ... where SW ships need fuel and we need to keep being reminded of that... yet if these writers were writing ESB then the Millennium Falcon would have ran out of fuel before going back to space from the asteroid creature.

This show is ok but sucky at the same time... at least it's not full blown TLJ but eventually it seems like it will get woke soon

And Maul didn't die by being cut in half and falling down a shaft. And, if the trailers are to be believed, Palps didn't die by getting tossed into the Death Star's reactor meltdown. Man, bad guys are tough hombres in the SW universe.

Hey cut me some slack, I haven't posted anything in a long time and just watched the three eps like three times now and it is very cartoony compared to the George Lucas OT and PT... and the use of "fuel" in the Disney SW universe is just lame and atrocious...

Seriously if Disney did Star Trek anything... including Voyager the crew which uses technology which is primitive compared to Star Wars rather ancient technology it would mean that you'd be run running out or plot device fuel all the time.

Also on the first episode again and the second when dealing with what seems like humanly life threatening injuries of getting your arm bitten and grabbed by a mouth full of teeth and thrown... the whole falling off the Yawa land cruiser and getting directly smashed by the space rhino... holy crap. They should have had a montage Rocky music during the repairing an interstellar spaceship that can travel via hyperspace and only two meat bags repaired it without help from droids... this show is a cartoon for the short attention span.

Fuel was brought up several times in Star Wars Clone Wars, which is canon and created by George Lucas, and again in Star Wars Rebels. I also remember fuel being mentioned in the Solo movie.

Fuel is nothing new in the Star Wars universe and is a part of the canon.

Mandalorian armor is made of some really touch metal, it would have protected him from the Rhino.

Beskar,[1] also known as Mandalorian iron,[3] was an alloy used in Mandalorian armor, notable for its high tolerance to extreme forms of damage. The metal was durable enough to withstand a direct blaster shot,[4] and could potentially withstand the slash[5] or glancing blow[6] of a lightsaber, though could be penetrated with a direct stab.[7]

doesn't matter if it's canon. if the movie/show doesn't make sense/or it's not explained in a satisfying way, or where you have to do additional readings, it's bs.

Because using fuel in starships, ect, really needs a great amount of explanation because people won't know what fuel actually is? There isn't anything BS about it, Starships in Star Wars run on fuel, that is all that is ever needed to know because everyone and their dog knows what fuel does. Star Wars never ever went into any kind of explanation of how their tech works, because it isn't science fiction, you can over think this stuff and might as well as say the light saber is BS, or that the Force is BS.

They disavowed everything. Everything before Disney they consider legacy now. This book is basically considered Canon under Disneys starwara though so it still holds true.
