Same speed here, from my retail copy.

afaik theres 3 options for post process aa in bf3, they are MLAA, FXAA and SRAA (low, med, high) and all blur the image. Things up close dont look bad but it strains my eyes in MP pixel hunting med to long range.. it does a good job of removing jaggies though and cleans up the foliage nicely, its a good option to have

I wonder if they are going to keep the original flag placements in the back to karkand map pack.

Question (i might be retarded): Is it possible to have several soldiers for one account?

Eg in BC2 i had my own soldier (with my own friends), and my sister had her soldier with her friends list etc.

I see there is an active soldier thingie in battlelog, but i cannot figure out how to create another one. Anyone know anything? I googled a bit and it might not be possible, but i want to ask anyway xD

Played some more. 32 player servers is where its at. Anything above that and pings are ridonculous. Gameplay is growing on me but honestly, the teams sometime suck ass. People don't follow around and can be complete morons at times. MNB4800 is a great soldier and we run around capturing flags while morons keep on fighting at choke points. Some maps feel big whereas, others feel over populated since they are size of CoD maps and putting 32-64 players in them is just an insta kill fest. Wish they can fix the net code a bit so that gameplay can be better.

Yup I feel the same way, I died maybe like 5-10 times from the same guy with the same shotgun in the map in the villa at the shooting practice area.

I agree the mp is growing on me too, and I too am finding that too many folk want to just sit back taking pot shots or sniping for kills rather than saving the objective or attacking objectives... team play so far has been minimal with zero comms which is challenging, you dont really know if you are on a duff side until you have played a few mins now but at least you know after watching everyone just run around.

So does the final version run better than the beta? Especially on Nvidia cards?

The public beta ran like ass at 600x400 on the lowest settings for me...

Tehran highway sucks. I leave whenever it rotates to that map. Flashlights give off more light than a nuclear blast. Retarded when someone can aim it at me and I'm completely blind.

I thought they changed flashlights so they don't blind in daylight? They are still pretty bad.

I have been having an ongoing issue with the one shot kill syndrome since beta. It was not a noticeable issue in Alpha. Last night I went in to the advanced settings of my network device and changed the incoming and outgoing transmit buffer values to their maximum setting.

Quote:
Transmit Buffers sets the number of Transmit Buffers used by the adapter when copying data to memory. Increasing this value can enhance transmission performance, but also consumes system memory.
After doing this and also removing 6GB of the 12GB of memory and my performance in the game has improved, so far.

If done all I can with the console commands available and in-game setting tweaking but I am still not comfortable with the performance vs gameplay feel and it's really putting me off the game and I can't afford a hardware overhaul

Are there any config file settings available to us?

Playing for a few hours on & off yesterday, the game runs flawlessly for me. Good graphics, good performance, good gameplay. Overall, amazing game.

Except for one thing, negative mouse acceleration. I hope DICE releases a fix for this asap.

I've seen this discussed quite a bit, but I'm not sure what "negative mouse acceleration" refers to. Can you sort of explain what it means and how it affects you?

Is that where is doesn't move as fast when you're moving the mouse at a slower speed and it flies when you move it a bit faster?

Or is that smoothing?

Either way I hate both.

I've barely had time to play lately, unfortunately. I played BF3 for ~15 minutes and I felt the same way. Right now I hope it was my Quadro 4000 which isn't very good for games. I felt like I couldn't aim for ****, but it could just be low performance. I will have to try the 470gtx when I have more time.

This should have been called BFBC3, not BF3. Maps are really small, not any bigger than in BFBC2. It's funny how some maps got too cramped with 32 players in BFBC2... Imagine how it is in "BF3" with 64 players. There's absolutely no tactics involved in any map, everything is just run'n'gun COD style gameplay.

Most disappointing thing is that there is no map editor and no server files available. 64 slot server costs ~50€ per month while for same money you could rent a root server that could run 4 instances of 64 player "BF3" servers. With no mapping tools and dedicated server files available this game can never be anywhere near BF2. It's console crap, DICE lied about it being a true PC game.

It feels less natural than it did in the beta, that's for sure. Did they perhaps change something from the old build to the newest one we're playing on now? I noticed that now even with HBAO enabled, something about being able to quickly look around and aim precisely just feels "off," exactly like what you said, and it's hard to place exactly what's causing it. When I go back and play Payday, a game that was recently released and has superb mouse control, there's a gigantic difference. It definitely isn't my frame rate, either, because BF3 runs great for me and like I mentioned earlier in this post, I didn't have the same problem with the beta once I disabled HBAO completely.
