They must be in the process of doing it now 9:34pm eastern time zone, the link brings me to the 9.1 drivers but that link brings me to the 8.12, pretty funny. Oh well I guess in an hour or so they will be there.

A buddy of mine having issues with his 4850 setup will be happy to hear that. Getting a BSOD after about 45 minutes of gaming...8.12 hotfix did little to help that. I'm not sure this will help either.

Okay. Now they're out....

EDIT: scratch that, links are still pointing at the 8.12s. It would have been more humane to get the drivers up first and then update the links...

Nope. It would have been more humane to wait for the drivers to be actually out before starting this goddamn barbarous thread, one of the worst I can remember.

Are the multicore optimisations implemented in the 8.12 hotfix drivers present in the 9.1's?

EDIT:

According to Rumor Mill, someone at Hardforum posted we should be getting driver version 8.58 and the ones floating around now and linked to below are 8.573 dated 01/13/2009. Don't know if the rumor is true though. Guess we'll know once ATI get their stuff together.

Results so far from me.
Multicore optimization do not made it to this set of drivers, you can easily see that benchmarking crysis or crysis warhead because performance is slower.
Call of Duty: World at War - the white outlines around water are still present.
Fallout3 - The HDR flicker is still present
Dead Space - The included ATI profile scales great....in the menu, not so great in the game itself. The godfather.exe profile works great in this game, why not use it instead.
Mirrors Edge - they added a profile and now the game runs great.
So, unless you play Mirrors Edge, there's no reason to install these over the hotfix.

Now what about a 9.1 hotfix with the features from 9.1 and the multicore optimizations?

There's a rumor that this set is not the real deal, and the official 9.1 is driver version 8.58.
Let's wait until AMD releases the driver to confirm that.

I can also confirm that the linked version I installed are 8.753....not the 8.58 as stated being the final official release.

They ARE working well, though, so I hope the official ones perform even better.
