Cloud is still being judged by the masses

Default Mozilla Firefox - 0.9.3

So, I finally decided to install the most recent client of Firefox yesterday.

Going to my webpage, while scrolling, there was massive slow downs. It was a damn slideslow.

I ended up discovering that this was an old bug(s). It only affects webpages with fixed background images. Quite frankly, I still notice slowdowns scrolling through Rage3D.

I also noticed that it's taking up about 50% of my CPU usage when I scroll, too.

Anyone else having this problem? Kinda retarded how it's affecting me on this build, but not .8.

Thumbs up

Hey..

Well yesterday I got home from a few weeks away and I noticed IE was crapping up on me .. massive slowdowns, freezing and whatnot..

I had Firefox stored from a previous battle with IE spyware, and decided to launch it and finally configured my favourites and whatnot..

So far, so good.. the tabbed browsing is overhyped, I don't tend to use it much, but the speed is great.

edit: the build is 0.8

Eh, I changed the layout. Runs flawlessy now.

Problem mostly only happens with large fixed background images.

That, and it slows down a bit on Rage3D, too. (Not near as much as it was on my webpage... but it's noticable compared to .8 build)

I'm assuming it only happens to a select few. That, or no one has actually been to a place with a static background.

I'll do this. Let me make a page with the old layout... see if it affects any of the .9+ users.

Now, this may be only affecting certain drivers with nVidia cards, as well.

I've been having some crappy problems. However, the bug is well known according to the Firefox forums.

Ah, you're into FMA as well.

Anyway, I'm not using smooth scrolling, I enabled it to try and it does seem to be "jumpy". If you're also not using smooth scrolling.. then... no idea.

Smooth scrolling doesn't have an affect on that. It simply makes scrolling with your scroll botton smoother... hard to explain.

IE uses smooth scrolling as default. Firefox doesn't.

And if you want some FMA BitTorrent links... PM me.

the bug you speak of affects webpages with fixed backgrounds and "small image" backgrounds

like, 4x4 gif images set to repeat.... maybe the Rage3D theme you're using has something else.

in general, FireFox is good, but has a few bugs i hope get fixed in the 1.0 version
