Default Resident Evil 2 Help

I just installed Resident Evil 2 on my computer (2.8ghz p4, 9800 pro 128 mb, 1gb ram, etc.).

I know its an old game and I have it running in win 95 compatability mode.
I'm running it under 3d rage pro mode since thats the closest there is to a radeon card.

My problem is that everything seems sluggish and people seem to talk really slowly so any help would be nice. Thanks for the replys.

Hmm..

Have you patched it to 1.04? I would try that and choose the TNT option (it may be a newer Direct3d renderer)....

BTW, does it work if you don't turn on compatibility mode?

does some funny things with compatability off and I do have that patch installed. Tnt mode seems even more sluggish.

I have the game here, I'll give it a try for you and let you know what's the deal.

[edit]: My system specs, in case they'll make a difference: Athlon XP 1600, 256MB RAM, Radeon 7200 VIVO.

Deja vu to 2019?

One shot 30 minute demo was ok but it's not worthy of a new thread.
