Default Radeon performance scaling??? Performance ceiling or no?

Hey folks.

I'm upgrading my CPU to a 1.13 266fsb T-bird (from an 850mhz T-bird). Am I gonna see some seriously enhanced performance? Or not? What kind of performance enhancements am I likely to see (assuming there will be some)? LMK.

Thanks!

Probably an accross-the-board speed up. Look at people sigs to see what kind of nVIDIAMark or Q3 scores you'll likely get.

From what I have seen from o/c my Tbird and my friends o/c there's. Every 100mhz will give you a
good 5+ fps boost so your looking at 15+ fps boost easy. Not to mention the increase in the fsb.
So you could easily see a 20+ fbs boost. This is based on two games ok (UT & Quake3)

That's going to be very dependant on the game, the settings, and especially the resolution. At higher resolutions, a new processor is not going to help a fillrate limitation of the vid card.

OK. Thanks for the responses. I pretty much run everything game-wise at 1024x768 now. I won't get a 20fps increase in Counter-Strike, since the server set max is pretty much where I am alot now. But maybe I won't see as many significant slow-downs either.

Thanks!
