![]() after reading various mags and benchmarks, ive come to the conclusion that fps are becoming increasinly irrelevant. Anything above 30fps is playable, above 60 is smooth, and above your moniotors refresh rate is overkill? So why are we all so hard on our wallets? ![]() |

![]() it depends how serious you are about gaming... most people need over 60 or 80fps for a game to feel smooth and responsive enough, 100fps+ is best. This is especially important for games that only sample input every rendered frame, as opposed to maintaining different rendering, physics and input threads, since lower fps would make your game less responsive. Even if your monitor refresh is only 60 or 75Hz you will still benefit from the game running faster because of the increased rate of sampling the mouse, keyboard etc. |
