Default OLED monitors when will we see them?

It has been some time since the discovery of OLEDs. There has already been successful prototypes of small OLEDs screens. The prorotypes showed that the screen was really good, great constract, vibrant colors and can be viewed in any angle as a CRT. So how far have they come when it comes to manufacture OLED screens for the masses for computer purposes. Is it that companies stall OLED screen so that they can earn money on their current LCD fabs?

I have small OLED display in my samsung mobilephone. I think that there is still problems on manufacturing large and fast high-resolution panels to compete with current LCD panels. 2-3 years and first models will propably pop into market.

Organic light emmiting diode. LEDs made out of doped plastics actually.

No backlight sounds cool. It would make games like Doom 3/Thief 3 look better with true blacks (in contrast to TFT's).

From what I've understood OLEDs has better color distribution than LCD and TFTs.

OLEDs can be the answer to the modern monitors. It is made of plastic which means that it is easier to manufacture than with silicon processes that is a quite hard material to work with.

I would bet two years or less. The reason everything is kept under wraps is because manufacturer's don't want the demand for LCD's to slow down any time soon.

I recently bought a Kodak camera for a friend, which came with the OLED screen and it looks fantastic, bright vibrant colours viewable from any angle, I wish they would hurry up and make desktop versions! Sony are apparently working on it:

I think you can safely say that OLEDS will be better in almost every aspect
And no i dont even think ghosting will be visible.

Anything that uses a seperate object (liquid crystal cell, organic LED, etc) for each pixel won't be able to change resolutions very well.
